After the incident at Gizor Dellso's compound, the Bad Batch returned to their base. The entire team was still processing Crosshair's betrayal. Hunter was most hurt by this betrayal. After a long and silent trip, the Bad Batch returned to their base. When they entered the base, they were greeted by Omega.
Omega: You're back!
As Omega greeted the Bad Batch, she was quick to notice that Crosshair was missing.
Omega: Where's Crosshair?
As Omega asked that, there was a tense silence. Jiro then walked over to Omega and was about to tell her what happened. Before she could tell Omega, anger came over Hunter as he flips over a table in anger. Omega was frightened by this as Jiro comforts her. After a moment, Hunter calms down and looks at Omega.
Hunter: Crosshair's betrayed us.
Omega: He....he did? W...why?
Hunter: I don't know. I knew Crosshair had disagreements with our methods, but I didn't think he'd....
Wrecker: Well what do we do?!
Tech: Crosshair's put us all in a very difficult position.
Hunter: Tech's right. When people find out about Crosshair's betrayal, it's gonna be messy.
Jiro: But...but it wasn't your fault!
Hunter: Maybe, but that won't matter to some people. For years, people from all sides have been trying to find an excuse to shut us down. Now Crosshair's given them a reason.
As Hunter said that, Jiro thought back to what Aizawa said to her when she first expressed interest in joining the Bad Batch.
Aizawa(Past): I'm going to ask you this, Jiro. Are you willing to endure harsh and unforgiving training? Are you ready to be ostracized by your fellow Heroes because of your association with the Bad Batch?
Jiro:(Past) My classmates won't turn on me.
Aizawa(Past): It's not them you should be worried about. Your closest friends will stick by you. Maybe even your whole class. Other than that, you'll be facing off against the whole world, Hero and Villain alike. If you're going to join the 99, then you're going to have to be ready for everything that gets thrown at you.
As Jiro remembered that day, Hunter spoke to her.
Hunter: Kid, the backlash from this is gonna be messy. Once word about this gets out, the Hero Association is going to be breathing down our necks. All members of the Bad Batch, current and former, are going to face serious heat from this. You've only done a few missions with us. If you want to leave, I wouldn't blame you. Hell, it might be better if you did.
When Hunter said that, Jiro was shocked. Jiro thought about the possible backlash Crosshair's betrayal could lead to. It could very well endanger not only her enrollment at UA, but also potentially end any possibility of a career as a Pro Hero. Despite this, Jiro believed in the Bad Batch.
Jiro: Hunter, when I heard you speech after All Might's retirement, I realized what kind of Hero I want to be. I want to be the kind of Hero that helps people no matter what. The kind that will put their lives on the line even if nobody cares. I joined the Bad Batch because I believe in you. I...I won't leave you when you need me the most.
Jiro's words brought a small smile on Hunter's face. Despite Jiro risking her future by standing with the Bad Batch, she was willing to stand by their side during this time.
Hunter: You're taking a big risk, kid. Your whole future might be on the line. If things go bad, you can kiss any chance of a Hero career goodbye.
Jiro: That's a chance I'm willing to take. A wise man once said that if I was going to join the 99, then I'm going to have to be ready for everything that gets thrown at you.
With that, Jiro made it clear that she would stand by the Bad Batch, regardless of the backlash.
Tech: I'm sorry to interrupt you, but we need a plan. It won't be long until word of Crosshair's betrayal gets out there. If the Hero Association gets word of this....
Hunter: Which means we'll have to issue a statement.
Tech: I hope you understand what that'll do.
Hunter: I know. I'm aware of what could happen. But if the public, or God forbid, the Hero Association find out from someone other than us, the heat on us is gonna be a hell of a lot worse. I'll let Shota know.
With that, the Bad Batch prepared for the backlash of Crosshair's betrayal. As the Bad Batch prepared for the backlash, Crosshair and the Shadow Dogs meet with Dabi and Hawks at an undisclosed location.
Crosshair: Gizor Dellso's dead.
Dabi: Good.
Hawks: Told you Crosshair would come through.
Swordkil: I wouldn't be so sure about that, Hawks. The rest of the Bad Batch got away.
Crosshair: You wanted Dellso dead. He's dead.
Swordkil: And you were supposed to kill the rest of the Bad Batch, yet they're still alive.
Crosshair: It's not my fault you and your band of thugs couldn't get the job done. I did my part.
Dabi: Enough! Crosshair, you killed Gizor Dellso. You took a life. You got blood on your hands and you betrayed your comrades. Whether you're really in it or not, you killed someone.
As Dabi said that, Crosshair looked at Dabi dead in the eyes. In that moment, Crosshair was officially welcomed into the League of Villains. The backlash from Crosshair's decision would send ripples across Hero Society.
