Chapter Eight - The Face Of Fear

After forming the plan, Hunter led Wrecker and Tech into the warehouse while Crosshair sets up a sniper's nest on the roof of a nearby repository building. Inside the warehouse, the rest of the Bad Batch began to carefully search the warehouse. 

Hunter: Check your corners. Don't let anything get the drop on you. 

Wrecker and Tech nodded as they continued to search the warehouse. Meanwhile, Crosshair continued to cover the area with his 773 Firepuncher Sniper Rifle. Suddenly, he sees a group a young people closing in on the warehouse. He contacts Hunter on his comlink. 

Crosshair: Sir, I have eyes on five unidentified bogeys approaching the warehouse. 

Hunter(Comlink): Can you identify them?

Crosshair then zooms in on the cross hairs of his sniper rifle. He was able to recognize the girl as Momo Yaoyorozu. 

Crosshair: You've got to be kidding me. Sir, I think they're some of the kids from UA. Most likely from Shota's class. 

Hunter(Comlink): What the hell are they doing here?

Crosshair: No idea. I'll keep an eye on them.

With that, Hunter and the Bad Batch continued to search the warehouse. They soon reach the storage facility where the Nomu were being created. 

Hunter: Holy shit. 

Tech: There's no doubt about it. This must where the League makes those creatures. 

Hunter: How the hell did the League manage to get all this done? They've been under our noses this entire time!

Wrecker: Well what're we waiting for?! Let's blow them up! 

Hunter: Something's not right. The tracker's right, but I'm not seeing the kid or the League for that matter. This place is empty. Too empty. 

Tech: What's the plan now? 

Hunter: First thing we need to do is to make sure these creatures don't see the light of day. Wrecker. Today's your lucky day. 

Upon hearing this, a mad smile of excitement fell on Wrecker's face. 

Wrecker: Seriously?! I get to blow it up?! The whole stinking thing?!

Hunter: My treat. 

With that, Wrecker began to set up several explosives on the storage tanks in which the Nomu were stored in. Hunter and Tech cover Wrecker as he sets the explosives. Suddenly, Hunter's Electromagnetic Sonar Quirk goes off. 

Hunter: Something's coming our way. 

Tech: How far?

Hunter: Close. Very close. Wrap it up, Wrecker! We need to get out of here now!

Wrecker: Just give me a second! 

Hunter immediately becomes concerned as he knew something was coming. Suddenly, a voice calls out from the darkness. 

???: The Bad Batch. This is a most pleasant surprise. 

Before any of them could react, they were all pushed with a powerful blast wave which knocks them all on their backs. 

Wrecker: What the hell was that?! 

Tech: Some kind of massive blast wave! It must be some kind of Quirk!

???: Most impressive, Tech. Most impressive indeed. I expect no less from the infamous Bad Batch. But where are my manners? Allow me to introduce myself. I am All For One. 

As All For One stepped out of the shadows, he threw an unconscious Ragdoll in front of them. Tech rushes over to check on her. 

Hunter: Is she all right?

Tech: She's alive, but she's comatose, sir. 

Hunter: What the hell did you do to her, you bastard?!

All For One: I didn't kill her if that's what you're thinking. This one always had such an impressive Quirk. Up until this point, my body was not strong enough maintain all the Quirks I had stockpiled over the years. Seeing now as my body recovered, I simply couldn't pass up the opportunity to add her Quirk to my collection. 

Upon hearing this, the Bad Batch were shocked into silence. Even Wrecker found himself unable to speak or even move. All For One then glanced over to the individual members of the Bad Batch who were frozen in fear.

All For One: Electromagnetic Sonar. Superhuman Strength. Chart. And Deadeye from your colleague Crosshair who I'm assuming is perched up on a nearby rooftop, waiting for the right time to take his shot. 

At this point, Hunter quickly realized the gravity of the situation. He knew from the stories of just how powerful All For One was. He could have Wrecker detonate the explosives, but the resulting explosion would no doubt harm the UA students who were waiting to free their friend. He could have Crosshair fire on All For Once, but he knew that the moment he took the shot, Crosshair's position would be given away. Any course of action would lead to catastrophe. 

All For One: I know you've come here for Katsuki Bakugo. I also know you've come for Tomura Shigaraki. I have no doubt that All Might is coming. In fact, I'm expecting him to. But it has been a long time since I revealed myself. And who better to witness this then the Pro Heroes ostracized by their fellow Heroes? Who better to witness this crucial moment than the Bad Batch? 

It was at this moment that the Bad Batch started directly into the face of fear. Hunter knew that he needed to think of something fast if the Bad Batch were to survive this encounter with All For One. He knew that they were no match for All For One. He was far too powerful for them to face on in a head on fight. The Bad Batch needed a plan and fast. In that moment, the Bad Batch felt true fear in the presence of All For One.
