After the raid on the Shie Hassaikai Compound, the Bad Batch take Jiro to the infirmary to heal her leg. Luckily, the leg suffered no permanent injury. However, they soon hear the news that Sir Nighteye had died from injuries he sustained during the raid. A funeral service was held in his honor. Many Pro Heroes attended the services including Class 1-A. Jiro was still processing that Sir Nighteye was actually gone. Though she didn't know him very well, she respected him as a Pro Hero. During the funeral, the Bad Batch arrived with their armor on. All eyes soon fell on the Bad Batch as they walked towards memorial of Sir Nighteye. They then took off their helmets and saluted the memorial. The Bad Batch was silent throughout the whole thing, even the usually loud Wrecker. Jiro looked around and could see that some of the Pro Heroes were not thrilled about the Bad Batch showing up. Hunter then approached the former Number One Hero All Might.

Hunter: You have our sympathies, All Might.

All Might: Thank you, Hunter. Sir Nighteye deserved better than this, but I'm sure he was at peace with it.

Hunter: I didn't know him very well, but I respect him as a Pro Hero.

All Might then shook Hunter's hand. As everyone mourned the loss of Sir Nighteye, the Bad Batch could see the look of disapproval from the other Pro Heroes. They were soon approached by Aizawa.

Aizawa: I'm surprised you all showed.

Hunter: We wanted to pay our respects.

Aizawa: It seems like the other Pro Heroes aren't exactly thrilled with you being here.

Crosshair: Since when did we give a shit about what the regs have to say about us?

Hunter: Easy, Crosshair. We won't be here long. We have a lot of work ahead of us.

Aizawa: You mean Swordkil?

As Aizawa mentioned his name, the members of the Bad Batch became uneasy. They had fought Swordkil and the Shadow Dogs for the second time and like the last time, they escaped.

Tech: It seems our former teammate is a slippery one.

Wrecker: Next time I see him, I'll break him in half!

Hunter: Don't worry, Wrecker. We'll get him. We'll be seeing you later, Aizawa. Take care.

With that, the Bad Batch prepared to leave the funeral. Before they could leave, Jiro met up with them outside the Havoc Marauder.

Jiro: Where are you going?

Hunter: Back to base. Tech's gonna try and dig up any information on Swordkil and the Shadow Dogs. Hopefully we'll find something. You did good out there, kid.

Jiro: I just wished Sir Nighteye....

Hunter: There was nothing you could've done. Sometimes there are things that just beyond your control. That's a reality you have to live with when you're being a Hero.

As Hunter said this, Jiro thought about her experiences in the USJ and the Training Camp. Both events backed up Hunter's words. Even the raid on the Shie Hassaikai Compound provided merit to Hunter's words.

Hunter: You still want to be part of the 99? I wouldn't blame you if you decided to back out.

Jiro: N...no. I made a commitment. I knew the risks by joining you. But like I said before, you're the kind of Heroes I want to be. If I give up here, then I might as well on give up being a Hero.

Hunter smiled on Jiro's words.

Hunter: That's the spirit. Take the rest of the day off to rest up. You deserve it.

Jiro: What about the Hero Work Studies?

Hunter: We'll resume your training first thing tomorrow morning. I think you're ready to run the Pit.

Upon hearing this, Jiro was shocked. Ever since she began training under the Bad Batch, she attempted to pass the Pit, but was unable to.

Jiro: I'm...I'm not sure if I'm ready.

Hunter: I think you're ready for the Pit. You've handled yourself well back at the Shie Hassaikai Compound. You kept a cool head despite the chaos that was happening. And that's not even mentioning your quick thinking. I'd say that tells me you're more than ready for the Pit.

As Hunter expressed his confidence in Jiro's skills, Jiro took a moment to collect herself. Though she had doubts about her own skills, she didn't want to let Hunter down.

Jiro: I...I won't let you down!

Hunter: I know you won't. Now go rest up.

With that, Jiro returned with her friends of Class 1-A back at Sir Nighteye's funeral. As the Bad Batch boarded the Havoc Marauder, Tech met up with Hunter to report his findings.

Hunter: Did you find anything, Tech?

Tech: I managed to access into the security footage.

Tech then shows Hunter the security footage of the compound's underground tunnels. They saw the Shadow Dogs moving what appeared to be a little girl with blonde hair wearing ragged clothing.

Hunter: I thought Aizawa managed to rescue that kid.

Tech: He did. Overhaul must've had another kid used to create the Quirk Destroying Drug. This was all I could find. The rest was corrupted beyond repair.

Hunter: We need to find that kid fast. Whatever the Shadow Dogs want with her, it's not good.

Tech: I'll do everything I can to find anything that can help us trace them.

With that, the Bad Batch would focus on finding the Shadow Dogs and rescue the girl they currently had in custody. In the meantime, Jiro would prepare to continue her training under the Bad Batch.
