After what transpired in Deika City, the Bad Batch regrouped at their base. It was a silent trip. When they arrived at the base, they made their way to the main room. Jiro turned on the TV which shows a news report on Deika City.
News Reporter(TV): Tragedy struck a peaceful city. Criminals used a fake emergency to lure heroes to a faraway location so they could attack without fear of interference. Facing an unexpected threat, the residents of Deika City banded together in resistance. The Heroes joined the fray after realizing they'd been tricked. By that time, many residents had lost their lives. Eventually, all members of the criminal group were killed. The Heroes closed the case. The news reported that Detnerat's president and CEO happened to be present in Deika City at the time of the attack. He managed to survive. Although he had to amputate both of his legs. Some said the untrained civilians did more harm than good by using their Quirks to fight against the threats. But the world at large couldn't stop talking about the heroism of the residents. Unfortunately, the incident left behind many mysteries.
At this point, Hunter turned off the TV. The room fell silent as they took the time to process this report.
Jiro: What's our next move, Hunter?
Hunter paused upon hearing Jiro's question. At this point, it became clear that the Bad Batch were in a bad position. Not only did they fail to capture Crosshair, but he also had played a part in the destruction of an entire city. Hunter knew that news of what happened with Deika City would no doubt bring even more heat on the Bad Batch.
Hunter: Crosshair just gave Rampart even more live ammo to use against us.
Tech: Legally, Rampart can't pursue any action against us.
Jiro: How can you be so sure?
Tech: Despite our independent nature, we've followed every regulation that the Public Safety Commission requires for all of it's Pro Heroes.
Hunter: But that won't stop Rampart from trying to turn public opinion against us. If enough people call for us to stop being Heroes, then I'm sure Rampart and the Public Safety Commission will be more than eager to oblige.
Omega: But...they can't do that! You're Heroes! You saved my life! Everyone has to see that!
Wrecker: The kid's right! We're Heroes and damn good ones!
Hunter: Whatever happens now between us and the Public Safety Commission is out of our hands. All we can do know is continue our search for Crosshair.
Tech: Doing so will be difficult. Crosshair will have no doubt covered his tracks.
Hunter: Then we'll just have to wait for the League to make their next move. Jiro, it might be better off if you take Omega back to UA and keep a low profile.
Jiro: We're not leaving you!
Hunter: As soon as we find something on the League, we'll contact you. The last thing I want is for you and Omega to get caught up in this heat.
With that, Jiro and Omega left the base to return to the UA Dorms. As the Bad Batch prepared their next move, the League of Villains have been recuperating at the Meta Liberation Army's home base. Soon enough at the underground level, Shigaraki and Re Destro addressed the remnants of the Meta Liberation Army.
Re Destro: Welcome, and thank you for coming. Liberation warriors! I am Re-Destro. It's a pleasure to see you. Today, the Meta Liberation Army will be reborn! I believed without a doubt that the League was an obstacle until I faced them! I had blinders on! But now I have seen the light! A new dawn is ahead of us. I was a prisoner of my blood. Unable to break free from what I'd been taught! But then I witnessed real liberation! This is not me surrendering, my friends! It's me doing what's best for our cause. Tomura Shigaraki is truly free! He filled me with awe, which necessitated my abdication! From this moment, the Liberation Army recognizes Tomura Shigaraki as grand commander. As we move toward freedom and strive for Destro's world, the Meta Liberation Army and the League of Villains unite under a new name! The idea came from myself and Spinner from the League! Now, the name please, Tomura Shigaraki!
Shigaraki: The Paranormal Liberation Front! We got rid of the term "Villain" and expanded on the whole "Meta" angle to be a little more inclusive. The nine people on stage are my lieutenants. Teams will be assigned to them based on our needs. Anyway, the name's the same as this hand a decoration. We'll do what we want.
As the new lieutenants of the newly organized Paranormal Liberation Front stood by Shigaraki, Crosshair along with Swordkil and the Shadow Dogs watched from the crowd.
Swordkil: That's a hell of a way to make an entrance. Makes you glad you picked the right side.
Crosshair said nothing as he simply observed the stage. Swordkil simply chuckles.
Swordkil: You really are a miserable son of a bitch, aren't you? Lighten up. We're about to take the world by storm.
Crosshair: Do you ever shut up?
With that, Crosshair simply observed what was happening before him. In that moment, both the League of Villains and the Meta Liberation Army were no more. In it's place was the Paranormal Liberation Front. And as this new organization prepared for war, Crosshair would bide his time.
