MIA
"Okay. I know that you have the speediest shower, so I am not even going to ask you to come down fast." I say.
"I'll be down in five, and then we can decide which movie to watch and what to order for dinner." He replies.
I can see that he is confused by the conversation we just had.
"Okay." Noah responds.
"How's school?" I ask Noah.
"Same old. Which movie do you wanna watch?" He replies.
"I was thinking about Crazy, Stupid Love. You?" I respond, and he states, "Pretty Woman."
"Okay. First, we'll watch Pretty Woman and then Crazy, Stupid Love." I state. Noah is holding up much better than I would have in such a situation. I still don't know why or who Stephanie cheated with.
"You know, you can talk to me about Stephanie. I can see that your head is going to explode with all the questions." He says, laughing softly.
"Sorry."
"It's okay." I can see his eyes glistening. I don't want him to cry once again.
So, I change the subject and ask, "I heard that Mr Smith sexually assaulted a freshman last year. Why wasn't he fired?"
"He is the husband of the school's chairman - Valerie Easton."
"So? There are other members on the school board, right?" I ask.
"She's the owner of the school as well - fifty-one per cent of it. So, she has the veto power." He answers, and everything makes a lot more sense.
"Oh."
"But we embarrassed him in front of the whole school as payback."
"How?" I question involuntarily.
"It was before Thanksgiving. After Cole assaulted the freshman, he was only given a word of warning. The girls' parents couldn't do anything because Valerie Easton bribed the police and lawyers. So, Devin helped us create a fake ID on FaceBook - one that couldn't be traced. We posed as a thirty-year-old lady and asked him to send us some nudes, and he did. Once we saved the pictures on the laptop, we blocked him and deactivated the ID. Then, Blake printed countless copies of the photos. Devin disabled all the cameras, and Blake put a copy in everyone's locker early in the morning." He answers, and I giggle.
"Oh, God. You guys are wicked. Was Alex also involved in this?" I question.
"Obviously. Devin can't keep a single thing in his stomach." He answers, laughing.
"That's true." Devin is so adorable. But he isn't as much as Oliver.
"You are thinking about Oliver, aren't you?" He asks.
"Am not!" I say a little too fast, snapping out of my thoughts.
"I can see your face, Mia. I have been seeing it for more than a year. I cannot read your expressions, but I see how your face lights up or blushes at the thought of him. You have had a crush on him for the last year. Why not tell him about it?" He states.
"I am scared. What if Oliver rejects me? What if we aren't friends anymore? Being friends is better than getting rejected." I reply honestly.
"What if he is scared of the same thing too, Mia? What if he does like you but doesn't know how to express it? We both know that my brother isn't the best portrayer of his emotions. Sometimes, I think you know his emotions better than himself." He says.
"What if he does not like me?"
"Why do you think so?"
"Have you seen him? He looks like a supermodel. He has a great personality too. The guy can have any girl he wants. Whenever we go out, he gets flirty glances from everyone, even married fifty-year-old women."
"Does he pay any attention to them?" He asks, raising his eyebrows.
"No."
"Then, ask him out, Mia."
"How am I supposed to ask him out? I mean, look at me." I say.
"I am. You are gorgeous, Mia. You have a great personality as well." He replies and I try to counter him, "Yeah, but....."
"Out of excuses? You know, Mia, when you take a risk in any form of life, you can either succeed or fail. Without taking a risk, you never know if either will happen. If you live in fear, you will only regret it and keep thinking as to what would've happened if you would have taken the risk." He says wisely.
"You can't tell him about it, Noah."
"I won't, but you have to ask him out before next Friday."
"Okay."
"By the way, didn't Oliver tell you about the catfishing prank?" He questions.
"Nope."
"I think I know why."
"Why?"
"Because Blake tried to assault you."
"Maybe. But you guys are seriously evil." I state.
"Come on, Mia, we had to teach the guy a lesson."
"True. It would have been fun to see the look on the teachers and students faces." I say, giggling once again.
"What are you guys laughing at?" Oliver asks as he comes downstairs. His hair is still damp from the shower. How much I want to run my fingers through it.
You know you want to fist it too, Mia. My subconscious says.
Shut up, kinky brain. As my eyes move down towards Oliver's body, I see that he is wearing a black tee and a pair of white gym shorts. How does this man manage to look hot in anything and everything?
"Mr.-Mr. C-Cole." I reply between laughs.
"What about him?" He asks.
"When you, Blake, Alex and I catfished him with Devin's help, and he sent us nudes." Noah replies before chuckling again.
He explodes into laughter as well. I'd be lying if I said that him laughing isn't the sexiest sight and sound I've ever seen and heard.
When I finally stop laughing, I ask, "So, which movie are we watching?"
"Pretty Woman and Crazy, Stupid Love." Noah and I said in unison.
"Nooooo." Oliver screeched, making his voice girlish.
"Yes, we are. Now, what do we order for food?" I ask Noah, ignoring Oliver.
"Since we chose the movies, let's let Oliver choose the food." Noah says.
"Salmon Sushi from Sakura Sushi Bar."
"Okay."
"Fine. I'll order four plates." Oliver says.
"Great. I'll start the movie while you order."
"Okay."
