OLIVER
I pick her up, and she starts to laugh, making me pout and ask, "Why are you laughing?"
"An amusing image came to my mind." She states.
"What?"
"A baby in your arms."
I say, "What's so amusing about that please enlighten me, Ms Thompson? Open the door, please." trying to not sound sarcastic. I set her on her seat and move towards my seat.
Once I sit on the drivers' seat and start driving, she states, "You'd be so scared that you'll drop the baby, and you'd probably crush the baby trying to hold it properly."
"I think any guy would be scared shitless to hold a baby, their own or someone else's." I reply.
"I don't think so, Oliver." She retorts.
"You aren't a guy, Mia."
"True, but I have seen a lot of guys hold their children." She replies.
"Yeah, who are above twenty-two. Ever seen teen parents?"
"Actually, most of the parents were teens."
"Huh. Then, I don't know about other guys, but I'd be scared shitless if I were to become a teen parent. I'd obviously support you two, but I'd still be scared." Before Mia waltzed into my life, I didn't want to get married or have kids. But since the time we've been best friends, that has changed, but I only want to be her husband and want my kids to call her their mother.
"I think you are forgetting the part that I can't get pregnant, Mr Anderson." She says, without the slightest bit of sadness, but then she's Amelia Grace Thompson. The master of hiding her emotions. I don't blame her, though. She has been hurt a lot, and if I were her, I'd hide my sentiments too.
"What if you do, Mia? The doctor has said that there's a chance that you could get pregnant. She hasn't said that it's completely impossible." I say optimistically.
"That's accurate, but the chance of me getting pregnant is less than one per cent."
"So? Anyways, if you decide that you'd wanna marry me, whenever and wherever, I wouldn't care if you could get pregnant or not. Besides, if you did wanna get pregnant, there is something known as in vitro fertilisation. Remember we studied about it last year in Biology." I state.
"Yes, I do remember Oliver. But you seem to have forgotten its risks, Mr Scatterbrained." She replies sarcastically.
I reply, "I haven't forgotten, Mia. Can we change the subject, please? We were talking about something hilarious."
A smirk forms on her lips, and she says, "So you do admit that it was humorous."
I confess, "Yes, I admit, my Goddess.", making her giggle.
She yawns, and I speak, "Sleep. I'll wake you up when we reach."
"What if you feel sleepy while looking at me?"
I reply, "I won't. Sleep, baby." Mia's eyes flutter shut, showing me the coloured things that she had applied to her eyelids. There was something black just at the lash line. Some green in the middle and a yellowish colour a little higher. They compliment her cyan blue eyes perfectly. She is flawless without makeup too.
She looks so peaceful sleeping. She is the prettiest sleeper I have ever seen. She doesn't snore or drool and resembles an angel. I reminisce about the first time I had taken her to the woods. She was reluctant at first, but Luke, Theresa and I had managed to convince her.
