Package

Yuzuru got home and went straight to the shower. Even though he took one already at TCC he just felt like he needed that extra relax time.
It didn't help much when he got out, but suddenly his nose was hit with the smell of something really tasty.

-Em?!

He shouted from the bathroom door and Emily peeked her head from the kitchen.

-Zu?

-Um...you cooking something?

-I am.

She said with a mischievous smile.

-Um....is there any chance there would be maybe a little bit left for me? ....It smells amazing.

-As a matter of fact, I actually made it for you.

-You did?! But it's Wednesday!

-I had some extra time and thought it could cheer you up.

-You are amazing!!

Yuzuru came over and squeezed her in a tight hug giving her a quick kiss before pulling away and going to examine what she cooked.
Emily noticed that lately, he was doing that more often. Coming home and giving her a welcome kiss as if they would be a couple, being pretty sure he is not even aware he does it.
She tried to quickly think of something else so that the blush spreading over her cheeks would disappear.

-I made beef ramen. And I need to say I think I did pretty well.

Yuzuru grabbed a spoon and tasted it, immediately closing his eyes in pure satisfaction.

-That is sooo good!!

He took out two bowls from the cupboard with a surprising speed and made two portions bringing them to the table. Emily followed after him with a big smile but once she reached the table she kept standing. Yuzuru did too.
She grinned, even more, knowing very well he won't sit down first until she does.
Emily watched him for few seconds hungrily staring at the steaming bowls, enjoying seeing his tortured face over the tasty dish she made.
As soon as she sat down, his butt was on the chair as well.

They ate quietly for few minutes, Emily just watching his expression relax more and more with each spoon, pretty sure she can see the dark cloud above his head shrinking.

-By the way, you received a package today. I picked it up at the post office. Something from Massachusetts.

-What??!!

Yuzuru almost choked on his last spoon.

-Where is it?!

-Um...on the table in the living room....

He got up, forgetting all about the dinner, and strode towards the living room. Emily followed after him, curious what it is that it got him so excited. But she could see it must have been something else than what he expected because once he lifted the package, feeling how heavy it is, a confused frown formed on his forehead.

He flipped it over few times as if looking for a clue and then tried to tear the opening but each side was taped over as if to protect it from anyone getting inside. Emily went to the kitchen for scissors and asked about the sender as she was handing them to him.

-You know somebody in Massachusetts?

-Um....a friend of mine studies at MIT there.

Yuzuru was too excited and curious about the package than to go into details about Anya, and focused on trying to get inside of the parcel.

-How the hell did you make a friend with somebody from MIT?
