Emily once more rolled her eyes and tried to take the tie from Yuzuru's neck but he beat her to it and snatched it off himself, putting it around her neck instead.
-You know what, Em? I have just landed a perfectly clean quad Axel in the SECOND half of the program. I might as well attend the banquet without a tie.
Emily exchanged yet another look of exasperation with Nyx who was also in Yuzuru's room and sitting on the bed. Ever since the medal ceremony was over and they met up with him, he was so obnoxious that they were kind of glad they cannot join the other figure skaters at the banquet as well. Because no matter what they tried to talk about, somehow the conversation with Yuzuru always ended up on that. Him being the best of the best. And they were both so proud of him at the start. And then they found it funny. And now they just wanted him to finally be ready and go to that damn ball.
And so Emily tied the tie, put it back around his neck, arranged it under the flaps of his shirt, and then tightened it just a bit more than was necessary. Yuzuru choked a little but still with a wide grin loosened the tie and rearranged it.
-Why aren't you with Nathan anyway?
-Because he doesn't need anyone's help to get ready.
Emily retorted but once more exchanged a look with Nyx, but this one was a look searching for reassurance that they are doing the right thing. They both were going to Yuzuru's room to let him know about Anya but the more they chatted on the way, they came to an agreement to wait at least until the next day. Because there was still a high chance that she won't win. Though they were mostly worried about what to do if she actually does win. Nobel medal or not, she was still engaged to another man. And Nyx, now being a married woman, was holding such an agreement in much higher regard than Emily or Nathan did. There were just some things that people should respect no matter what. And even though she never met Anya in person, from the little she knew about her, she didn't strike her as a person who would get spontaneously engaged. If she did, there must have been a reason for it. So both girls agreed that they will just wait after the medal ceremony and possibly even sometime after that, if she wins, to rather letting Anya decide on her own what she wants to do.
Yuzuru was ready to go, gave each of the girls a quick peck on the cheek, letting them know that he won't stay long and will then bring both Nathan and Javi back to the room to have their own private party. Both girls excitedly nodded and then practically pushed him out the door. And once he was gone, they quickly turned on the TV, trying to find the channel on which the Nobel Prize ceremony will be broadcasted.

Anya was standing in front of the mirror of her hotel room feeling....awkward. She did love the dress. Very very much. But she also never wore anything like that. And no matter how pretty her reflection in the mirror was, she still couldn't wait to be in her pajamas again.
