Emily sat down on the bed and for the hundredth time refreshed the Nobel Prize webpage in hope of some news.
It was few weeks since she found out that Anya was nominated again and her stomach was tight in knots ever since.
Will she maybe win it this time? But if she does what about Yuzuru? Will he actually dare to land the Axel cleanly? He did seem so much more at peace in the past months, but he already seemed to her like that at the previous Worlds and he still decided not to go for it anyway.
And what she found the most excruciating was that nobody else knew how much was on the line. It wasn't her place or her life story to tell anyone about. But because she couldn't share it with anyone else it was killing her even more.
Everything just boiling down to this one day. Yuzuru's free skate and the Nobel Prize ceremony where the winners will be announced the same night in a nearby concert hall.
Should she tell Yuzuru about it even if he doesn't land the Axel? Or what if he does land it? Anya was probably still engaged, or at least there were no articles mentioning otherwise.
Would it break his heart all over again if he would see her win and still not be able to be with her?
She snapped from her thoughts as Nathan got out of the shower, grumpily going through his clothes in the suitcase.

-You ready, Em? We should leave in few minutes if you don't wanna miss his free skate.

Nathan growled, annoyed that he hurt his foot the day prior, and had to withdraw not to risk worsening the injury.
Emily refreshed the page one last time and sighed, got up from the bed, and aimed for the door, Nathan following after her, slightly limping but refusing to use clutches.

They got to the Stockholm Arena,  Emily lost in her thoughts, and Nathan still angry at the whole world. They walked in silence when Nathan's phone buzzed with a notification.

-Oh, Anya made a move!

He said excitedly and began to ponder what should be his next move as he kept limping next to Emily towards their seats.

-Gosh, I can't believe she is actually playing chess right now....

Emily let out but immediately frowned, not wanting to risk and let it slip that Anya is one of the Nobel Nominees.

-What do you mean? Because she might be Nobel Laureate in several hours?

-WHAT??!! How do YOU know?!!!!

Emily stopped in her tracks, shocked that Nathan knows and grabbed his shoulder to make him stop as well.

-Well, Nyx told me before I got back to our room, met her in the hallway. She was super excited about it.

-Fuck! Where is she now?

-Um.....probably telling Yuzuru? She said that it could cheer him up seeing how well she is doing---

-No!!!!!!

Emily moved her hand from his shoulder to his arm and began to quickly drag him towards the backstage area.

-Hold on, Em! What is the big deal?! I can't walk that fas---

She stopped once more and pushed Nathan against the wall, fuming and pointing her index finger at his face.

-I won't get to his gym without you, so you better speed up otherwise I will never EVER have sex with you ever again!!

Emily was of course lying and Nathan was pretty sure that she didn't mean it, but her look was so intense that he just anxiously nodded and began to limp with a newfound motivation.
They were striding through the various corridors, Nathan still confused about what is going on but Emily was refusing to tell him.
