Master Plan

Yuzuru was walking home, looking forward to the next Thursday and wondering if he should send the jacket back to Anya already tomorrow to make sure she is still in the place where she sent it from.
The first year, he always received the package with a return address to Massachusetts, but in the last year, the locations started to change. First, there was Switzerland, which didn't surprise him, but two months later it was China, then France and now the package came from Germany.
As he walked, he took out his phone to check online if she published anything new.
To his surprise, he found an article about one of her theories, the author mentioning that she just recently acquired a master's degree in Cosmology, still studying Astrophysics.
Yuzuru mindlessly reached into his pocket for the wallet with the list, before realizing she had there a Ph.D. in Physics, not a master's degree.
But as his hand slit inside, he realized he forgot his wallet in the cafe when he was paying.

He quickly turned around, hoping to still catch the girls before they close.

Nyx looked around as if she would be waiting for something and then locked the door of the cafe, taking one of Emily's guitars over her shoulder. They started to slowly walk towards her place when she noticed Yuzuru coming to them from the end of the street and a big grin spread across her face.

-Ah, look at that, so I guess he already realized he left his wallet here.

Nyx took out his wallet from her pocket and handed it to Emily together with her guitar.

-Why are you giving it to me?

-Cause I am leaving. Bye!

Nyx turned around and was just about to go the opposite direction but Emily quickly grabbed her arm, asking her what's going on.

-He always walks his dates home.

-I am NOT his date!

-Yeah, but he is too much of a gentleman to let you go home alone, especially with two guitars. TAXI!!

She quickly flagged down a taxi passing by and hopped in, asking the driver to start driving right away.
Emily sighed and put one of the guitars over her shoulder and the other in her hand, going then ahead to meet Yuzuru.

-Thank you so much!

Yuzuru took his wallet, quickly checking if Anya's list is still in it, unharmed, and then put it into his pocket.

-Where did Nyx run off to?

-She let the stove on at home.

-Huh?

-Nevermind.

Emily wished him a nice evening once more and started to walk towards Nyx's place but Yuzuru immediately followed after her.

-Give me the guitar, I will take it.

-It's alright, Yuzu. Go home.

-I can't let you go home alone. Give me the guitar.

Emily started to giggle, soon after bursting into proper laughter, holding her hat so it wouldn't fall off. Yuzuru was watching her frowning and confused but still, a small smile started to play on his lips the more she was laughing.

-What is so funny?

-Nyx. I am pretty sure she snatched your wallet.

-Cause she knew I would come back....

-And walk me home....

Yuzuru now chuckled as well and extended his hand one more time for Emily's guitar. She gave up trying to fight either him or her crazy friend and handed it to him with an exasperated thank you. They started to walk towards her place, Emily reassuring him that it's only a few blocks away.
