Yuzuru was holding Anya's hand, not able to get enough of the feeling that there is finally a response in her touch. She kept playfully squeezing it here and there, obviously enjoying the feeling.

-I am not dead, Anya. And you are not either.

-Hmm....I always knew the denial phase would take you longer.

Yuzuru sighed but decided not to try to explain to her what is going on, considering her brain wasn't processing all the information properly anyway. Yet he hoped she could get to it herself and figure it out on her own.

-So, um.... you believe in the afterlife?

-Absolutely not! That is such nonsense!

Even though her pale cheeks were not corresponding with her fired-up tone, Yuzuru was still enjoying the view.

-So....how do you explain that we are meeting like this if we are both dead?

Anya immediately inhaled to give him a response, but then her mouth stayed half-open without a sound coming out. She inhaled once more, but only frowned, trying to find an answer to his question.

-My head hurts.

-Sorry!

Yuzuru quickly squeezed her hand, feeling guilty for trying to reason with her in this state.

-What was the question?

-Nevermind.

-Hm....

Anya kept looking at him, but her eyes were still unfocused and it seemed rather as if she was looking through him.
She raised her hand a little and when Yuzuru noticed she is trying to touch his face, he helped her lift the hand higher to his cheek.

-You feel so real!

She squeezed his cheek and giggled as it molded between her fingers. She did it again and began to properly laugh, moving the tip of her index finger against his nose and pressing it.

-Toot!!

Anya kept laughing more and more until her hand fell down again and moved over to her stomach.

-Ouch. That hurts.

She stopped laughing abruptly and instead frowned however she didn't seem to him to be in too much pain.

-Does it hurt?

-Yeah.

-Where?

-I don't know......I feel funny.

-You are very funny.

-I am never funny.

-You are always funny. Especially now.

Yuzuru stood up and sat down on the edge of the bed, not getting enough of her gleeful expression. She was like a small child with a very short attention span and he was doing his best to try and take her seriously, knowing the moment he would give in, he would waste this precious moment by rolling on the floor laughing. So he only resolved to let the corners of his lips twitch but suppressing laughing out loud.

-Wanna hear a joke, Yuzu?

-I would love to hear a joke.

-Good.

Anya fell silent and kept staring at him. It seemed her mind drifted away and she was just looking at Yuzuru's face and smiling.

-Um. The joke?
