-What if I faint there?

Anya sat on the bed, staring at the wall while David was going through his suits, wondering which one to wear.

-Well then somebody will probably come over and drag your lifeless body off the stage.

-Thanks.

-Well you asked what would happen if you faint. That is the most probable outcome.

David said with a smile and turned to her, glad she understood it was just a joke and was smiling back at him. He then scanned what she was wearing and smiled even more.

-I think people will be concerned about your sanity already when we get there.

-I feel comfortable in it. But I don't think they will care about my ripped jeans if you gonna wear that tie with this suit.

She pointed at the hanger he was holding, sporting a simple black suit with a brown tie.

-What's wrong with it?

-Everything?

-Specifically?

-The pattern on the tie is not even.

David took the tie out and slowly scanned the detailed pattern on it from top to bottom, seeing a small irregularity on the side at the very bottom.

-Wow. Never noticed it. Had it for years. Now I can't wear it again, dammit. I really liked that one.

-I'm sorry.

-So why are you smiling?

-'Cause that tie is hideous. It's good if it never sees the light of the day ever again.

-So which one should I wear?

-The black one?

-All in black? I am not going to a friggin' funeral.

-I look quite dead when I faint.

-Promise?

-Yeah.

She smiled some more and David grinned back at her, reaching then for the black tie instead and took the clothes with him to the bathroom to get ready.
Once he was gone, Anya took a picture of the brown tie, wondering if she would be able to find one similar-looking and give it to him for Christmas. As much as she hated how it looked, he obviously did like it.

It took him longer to get ready than expected so when he finally darted out of the bathroom they both hurried to the car, David profusely apologizing.

-I am so sorry! That bloody shaving machine stopped working again!

-Well, I am now even more glad I have my sneakers and not heels.

Anya said as they ran down the stairs of his house and straight to the car. She smiled seeing that even in a rush he still opened the door for her and as she sat down, she made another mental note to add a shaver to her Christmas list. It was just the beginning of the summer, but she just wanted to have a plan ready. Especially since he gave her such nice earrings last Christmas, making her wonder which of his female friends helped him buy them.

David turned to her as he was driving, wondering if she would like to chat about something to get her mind off the stress but when he saw that she had her eyes closed and was rebraiding her hair, he let her be.
He was glad her hair was getting a bit closer to the previous length before she cut it off, giving her again her little ritual when thinking or trying to calm down.
But it was still not long enough, so she was finished pretty quickly and he noticed she was clenching her knees nervously.
