ANDRIETTE LOUISE DE VERA

It was the next day.

After yesterday's events of me embarrassingly crying my eyes out, everybody was.. nice.

I was told to wake up a bit early. Mr. De Leon had finally told our purpose here Paris. We are attending a wedding .

He didn't say who's. But it was probably an important business partner of his. That or he just has a habit of going to random people's weddings.

We all piled up in a luxury car and drove off. I insisted that I should wear my 'work clothes' instead of the dress that Mr De Leon bought. I expected him to fuss about it, but he gave up pretty easily. Saying the exact line, and I quote; "It's okay then. Wear what you feel comfortable in. I'll see you in a while" unquote.

I may come off rude but I find it really hard that he, Adonis Jax De Leon, a Billionaire who owns every luxury business I could think off, can be polite.

He did explain that he was in a bad mood when he first saw me, but why the fuck did it take him a whole month to realize it?

It would've made my life a lot easier if he got his shit together earlier.

It's been a while since I attended a wedding. And it's safe to say that I forgot that many people attend.

We didn't attend the ceremony. We all went straight to the after party venue.

Men in crisp business suits littered the venue, each with a woman wrapped around their arm, the tails of their extravagant dresses trailed behind them like endless waterfalls.

How the fuck will anyone recognize the bride then?

Mr. De Leon made his way around the crowd, everyone parting a way for him. Well, me making sure he had enough room to walk into.

"Adonis! It's nice to see you my friend!" A young man in his early 30's popped up in front of Mr.De Leon , a huge smile sporting his face. They both shared a 'man hug' and parted. Mr. De Leon offered one of his own dazzling smiles.

"It's been a while, Anton."

"That it is" Anton greeted Jay, Madeline, and Jake with the same smile and enthusiasm. His eyes fell on me and he looked at Mr. De Leon in confusion.

"Another one? What happened to Xander?" I felt the air shift around us when the name was mentioned. Jake and Madeline exchanged worried glances and I saw Jay stiffen from my peripheral vision.

Mr. De Leon leaned in and whispered something into Anton's ear. The said man instantly pulled back, his face morphed into shock, pity and then understanding.

"Oh, I'm sorry about that. I, I didn't know.."

Jay, to my surprise, stepped up and offered a small smile, dismissing Anton's apology.

What the hell happened to Mr. De Leon's old body guard?

"..enjoy yourselves! I would accompany you around, but I still have other guests to greet.."

"Oh it's fine." Mr De Leon dissmised with a smile. "We would. Congratulations on your wedding, Marie's a lucky gal."

Anton shook his head and laughed a little,"If anyone of us is lucky, it's me." his eyes glazed a little, a strong emotion visible in his eyes.

"She's everything I wanted, and more. Marie's by the buffet! she'll assist you. I wish we could chat more, but I need to go. Have fun!" and then, he was off.

Mr. De Leon smiled a little, before walking away. I felt in step beside him, shoulder to shoulder. I kept my eyes open for any possible threat that can come our way. When I saw none, I breathed a little.
