ANDRIETTE LOUISE DE VERA
"No. This has got to be a mix up. Why would they go after Cam? He and Mr. De Leon don't even know each other! There's no way-"
"Agent De Vera. Please refrain from raising your voice and stop thinking with your emotions." the Director chided. "You know better than to get emotions involved when it comes to investigations, Agent. I want you to take a breather for a moment and think logically about this."
I nodded and breathed in and out. He was right. Emotions fuck up your thinking. If I wanted to give Cam the peace he deserved, I needed to stop being emotional. I looked at the situation from the Director's point of view and realized that the Director was once again, right. There is no other possible explanation to why they put his head in my locker. And the note addressed to me was another evidence that was strong enough to prove all of his accusations right.
Mr. De Leon's enemy killed Cameron.
"But why would he kill him?" I questioned aloud. Cris was thinking the same thing too as we both looked at Mr. De Leon for an explanation.
"That, I don't know." the Director sighed. I picked up the letter from his table and read it once. Word after word, my brows furrowed into confusion, then into anger. I slammed my fist into the Director's table and swore aloud. Cris slowly took the crumpled note from my hands and read it aloud for the Director to hear as well.
"Hello, Andriette. I noticed that you have been encompassed with De Leon's life for a while now. I don't know who you are or what your significance is to De Leon, but remember this; I will be coming for you and your family. I've already done a good job about that spy boy, eh? Such a shame. He was innocent in all of this too. But any friend of yours is an enemy of mine, Andriette. Give me De Leon now or watch your family die one by one. Choose your decision wisely, iha. Better sleep with eye open from now on, dear. This won't be the last note you'll be receiving from me." Cris whispered the last words, like he couldn't believe what he just read.
He's going for my family.
My fucking family.
Andrei, Aria. Mama and Papa.
"I'm going to kill that bastard." I growled.
"We need to find out who he is first-"
"Oh I will. And if I do, I'll tear him limb by limb and fucking feed his body to his men." I visibly shook from my seat. Cris eyed me warily, eying the Director as if to ask him to make me calm down.
"We need to plan this thoroughly, Louise. We can't just-"
"And wait for another Cameron accident? I'm sorry Director but I will find that psychopath even if it means doing it alone." I abruptly stood up and made a bee line towards the door. I opened it and just as I was about to leave completely, I turned around and faced the two, who looked at me with very wary expressions.
"I won't move now. I just need a breather. And I most definitely won't abandon post. Mr. De Leon is still mine." I gave them a curt nod and left the room, speed walking towards the elevator.
I pressed ground floor and waited. I can't search for the bastard while my emotions are all over the place. True to my word, I will only leave for a bit to get some air. I'm no idiot and I know protocol. I just couldn't stand sitting around while my family is in danger for no reason. If I stayed in that room for too long, I might end up saying something that might get me in trouble later on.
