Our birthday

Monroe

I looked at the calendar as I was getting ready early in the morning. November 3rd. Today was Sirius' birthday and not just any birthday, but his seventeenth birthday. He was finally free.

I was chatting with Marlene as we walked down the stairs and saw the four Marauders and Lily talking up a storm. It was quite nice seeing Lily get along with all the boys, besides just Remus.

I spotted Sirius sitting on the couch with his leg propped on his knee. His hair was freshly washed and he wore his leather jacket that he made me promise we would both start wearing together.

I noticed Peter beside him, but not close enough to where he would interfere with my plan. I ran and jumped over the back of the couch landing in Sirius' lap. He was surprised by my sudden action, but had a grip on my thighs, so I didn't fall.

I wrapped my hands around his neck and pulled him into the tightest hug I had given him since Andromeda was disowned and he came to me about it. I could spell the fuji scented shampoo that he had used this morning.

I pulled back and gave him a big smile, "Happy birthday, Sirius. Today is all about you and what you want to happen. There will be a yes to every and any prank you want to pull today. It's all about you today."

Sirius pulled me closer in his lap and gave me another hug. He moved aside some of my hair and whispered in my ear, "Thank you, Rowie. I can't wait to see what I make you and these pricks do today."

I pulled back laughing and Sirius joined me. James raised his eyebrow, "So basically the next two days are filled with being bossed around by Padfoot and Rowie?" He sighed.

I gave James a playful smirk. He wasn't wrong about being bossed around by Sirius and I. His birthday was today, and mine is tomorrow. We knew we were best friends by how close our birthdays are.

Sirius held onto me as he sat up from the couch then gently sat my feet on the ground. He picked up his book bag, "Can we go eat now? I am starving and don't feel like waiting any longer."

I gave a smile to our friends and they all sighed, but smiled, "Yes Sirius, we would love to go eat breakfast with you on your birthday. You deserve it!" They all said in unison.

Sirius looked down at me, "Are you making them say that to me all day, Rowie?" I nodded and tried to hold my smile back. He pressed a kiss on my cheek, "Best gift yet."

I clung to his body as we walked to breakfast and talked to him about the plans for tonight. Sirius was born at 11:58 P.M. and I was born at 12:02. We are only four minutes apart in age, so at midnight is when we both blow out our candles.

As we were eating a bunch of girls would come up to the table and tell Sirius happy birthday. Normally I wouldn't have a problem with it, but this year I'm noticing how flirty they are and how they keep trying to touch him.

I sipped my pumpkin juice annoyed at the fact that Sidney Burke wouldn't leave Sirius alone. She even sat herself between Sirius and I. He looked at me for help, but I mouthed, "It's your problem."

Sirius put his hand over Sidney's mouth, "I am thankful that you wish me a good birthday, but could you please get up from between Monroe and I. No one asked you to sit down."

Sidney turned to me and glared at me. I gave her a cheery smile, "You heard him, leave! No one asked you to sit here, nor did either Sirius or I make room for you."

"You are just jealous that he and I have been together before. You might be an Airson, but that means nothing. We all heard the rumors, no one would want to be with a dark witch." Sidney snapped at me.
