The power seventeen has

Rotanev

Waking up, I was surrounded with balloons all around my bed. Daphne was sitting on her bed, like nothing was happening, and Pansy was coming out of the bathroom. We had one rule: Only Rigel and I were able to make a big deal out of our birthday.

Daphne looked out of the corner of her eye to see I was waking up. She slammed her book shut, before coming over and engulfing me in a huge embrace, "Happy Birthday, Rotanev. You're finally seventeen."

Pansy looked over at us with a smug look on her face, "Well if we learned anything about Airsons turning seventeen, it never ends well. You might want to back away from her, Daph."

"For one day, can you leave your bad mood in the dorm? It's the twins birthday and it's a big one. We celebrated everyone's birthday, Theo's being the most recent. Next is Draco's, then mine. We will celebrate all our birthdays because that is was friends do. The most we can do for them on this hard day, is make it good. If you don't want to do so, then leave this dorm and go back to sticking your tongue down Baylor's throat." Daphne snapped.

I led back my little snicker, while Pansy rolled her eyes and left the dorm. It wasn't a dramatic exit, but more of a tired one. Anyone could tell she wasn't herself anymore and we knew why, but there wasn't anything we could do to help her.

Daphne turned back to me with a huge smile on her face, "I would like some morning time alone with my best friend on her birthday. I know I get Rigel during lunch, but when dinner comes it's your time together. I just need to express how much you mean to be Rotanev."

She tried to hold back her laughter, "It sounds like I professing my undying love to you, but it's not that. You have been my best friend since we got ot Hogwarts. You forgave me when I didn't deserve it and I want to thank you. You are the best, best friend I could ask for."

Letting my huge smile show, I pulled Daphne into another hug and thanked her for her kind words. She helped me pick out an outfit for dinner with my parents tonight, then we got ready for classes. That's when it hit me.

I slapped my forehead, "I forgot all about OWLS at the end of the term! I have like four weeks to study! Merlin's beard, why can't the Weasley twins come ruin them again?" I groaned while sitting on the edge of my bed

The door to our dorm slowly opened, revealing Astoria in the door way, "Hey, sis! Hey, Rotanev! The boys are waiting for you in the common room and set me to see how everything was going. Rigel he umm - he's being really moody as Jaden put it. He won't leave the dorm, until you are there."

Standing up from my bed, I let out a frustrated sigh, "He does this every year! I'm coming. Let me get my books."

Daphne let out a little scoff, "He's such a little kid on his birthday, and not in the fun way. He was horrible last year. He cursed the covers to stay on him, so no one could make him get out of bed."

I nodded in agreement, then made my way down to the common room. I placed a quick kiss on Theo's lip, after he whished me happy birthday, and I handed him my books so I could go get Rigel. He's such his father's child.

The door to the boys dorm was slightly open and all I could see was Rigel laying on his side with his back towards me. He turned to look at me, then turned back to facing the window, "Rotanev, I don't think I can get out of bed today."

Making my way over to my twin brother's bed, I rested my hand on his forehead, "You don't have a temperature, you don't seem to have a rash, so what's wrong?"

Rigel rolled on his back dramatically with his arms sprawled out above his head, "I'm seventeen. We are seventeen. We have more power now, but we are also adults. We are getting old, Rotanev."
