You can't run from your past
"I think it could be shiner. Maybe a bigger diamond or more diamonds surrounding it." Marlene pondered while examining the ring on my hand. "Maybe, even just a whole new ring. You know, one that is worth the bloody marriage."
I pulled my hand away from her, "The ring is perfectly fine. Sirius picked the perfect one out for me. I never wanted a flashy engagement ring to go along with the flashy wedding we will have. It would be almost too much like a real pureblood wedding."
Lily smiled, "I think it's a perfect ring. The diamond is big enough to shine in the light, but not to shiny that it's blinding. It looks like Monroe's dream wedding ring." Marlene groaned, but Lily just laughed, "I will make sure to tell Dorcas you want a fancy engagement ring."
Marlene's eyes lit up, "We already talked about what rings we want. She wants simple, I want flashy, so that's what we are doing. We already picked a date as well. July, 1981. By Monroe and Sirius should have at least one kid, so it can be the ring bear, flower girl, or both."
I let out a little chuckle, "So, you are already assuming my child will be old enough by then? What if I don't get pregnant until years after I marry Sirius. Narcissa and Lucius have been married for a while and still don't have a child."
Marlene raised her brows, "We all know you and Sirius will be expecting a child before one year of marriage. You two can't keep your hands off each other enough when people are around. Just think to when you will live alone together."
"Oh, she won't ever get to sleep." Sirius joked as he sat down next to me on the couch. He wrapped his arm around me and pressed a kiss on my cheek, "Only been properly engaged for three weeks and she can't seem to leave me alone."
He clutched his heart after I smacked him on the chest, "First off, it's you who can't seem to leave me alone. Second off, I will get to sleep, because someone will still have full moon duties after school is finished."
As Sirius was about to reply, Remus walked past the couches and left the common room without a word to any of us. James flipped up the collar of his shirt, "What's up with our Moony?"
I turned around to face James, "It's the full moon tonight, Prongs. He's probably just nervous and going to Madam Pomfrey for something to ease the pain. Fire-whiskey can't take everything away."
Peter hoped over the couch and landed on Marlene's lap, who then pushed him off onto the floor. Peter let out a little sigh, "You will one day regret how you treat me, Marlene. One day you will be begging me to save you." Peter then turned to James, "Don't you three also have a quidditch game today?"
Sirius fell forward and let his head lie in my lap, "We do, Wormy. If we get tired from a normal full moon, just think of how it will be going from a quidditch game to running around with Moony. I'm happy tomorrow is Saturday."
I looked down and started playing with his long locks, "You all will be fine. Once you start running around with Moony, all of that tiredness will go away and that feeling of being free will replace it."
Lily looked at the clock, "Merlin, our free period is almost over! We are going to be late to Defense Against the Dark Arts!" None of us moved, "Get your lazy arses up now! Up! Up! Up! NOW!"
We all got rushed out of the common room and began to run to the DADA classroom. Peter ran into a few first years, making them drop their things. James was laughing so hard and looking at Peter apologize, that he tripped and landed face first on the ground.
Lily pulled him up and pushed him down the hallway. We made it to class with barely a minute to spare. Remus was already seated at our regular table. James asked him why we seemed so on edge and all Remus could do was point to a black wardrobe in front of the class.
