And just like that, the real war starts now
"How did you beat her for top of our class? And you how did you get above me? You never do your school work?" James yelled in the common room. Lily held back her laugh at James' outburst.
Once her laughing was under control she turned to her boyfriend, "James, it's alright. McGonagall talked to the both of us. Monroe beat me for top of the class by two points. I'm okay with not being top, but we need to talk about you not being okay with being fifth."
James glared at Lily, "Of course I'm not okay with being fifth! I do my work, with the help of Remus, and I made Head Boy somehow without ever being a prefect! Sirius Black should not have gotten fourth in our class!"
Remus patted James on the back, "You made top ten, James! Isn't that enough? You will be recognized tomorrow at the ceremony like the rest of us, besides Marlene and Peter. Sirius beat you by one point, mate."
James turned around to Remus with a cold glare, "Yes Moony, by one point! One point! Sirius Orion Black beat me, James Potter, by one point! He doesn't even do his own work! Monroe does it all!"
Sirius looked at me with a proud smile. He was the one to ruin James day by informing him that he didn't beat him in final grades. Yes, I helped Sirius with homework, but we all helped each other most of the time. Sirius had to do good on his NEWTS for him to get fourth.
James fell back on the couch and laid his head on Lily's lap, "Where did it all go wrong? Me and you were supposed to be top of the class then third in the class. Now, look at us! Second and fifth!"
I flipped to the next page in my book, "Maybe, you should have been more focused on your studies, then being in Lily Land all the time. You became worse then Sirius when it came to day dreaming."
James shot his head up, "That's because when Lily catches me day dreaming, she doesn't stab a quill in my leg, like you did to Sirius. I had never seen the Padfoot actually bite his tongue until then."
"It got him to stop day dreaming didn't it?" I asked.
Sirius snorted, "Yeah and gave me a slight fear of you when you hold a quill. I still have the bloody mark from where you stabbed me. I bled for two days straight!"
I went to open my mouth to say something, but we all turned our heads when we heard the common room door open. It was Regulus, who seemed to have a scared look on his face, "Evan and Carter think you set Tom up. They said Tom doesn't believe you did. He somehow trusts you."
All eyes landed on me. Lily squinted her eyes, "What did you two talk about? I mean he's an evil wizard who wants to rule the world. Why would he trust you from one meeting?"
Regulus came and sat in between Sirius and I. Sirius rolled his eyes, but Regulus caught him, "Oh get your knickers out of a twist, Sirius. Leave some room for Merlin." Regulus turned his attention to Lily, "What didn't they talk about. I felt like I was reading a very intense book while watching them."
I smacked the back of his head, "Shut your mouth!" Lily then turned to me for an answer, "He said things to me that we already know. Now, Regulus and I must go talk to Evan and Carter and assure them everything is fine."
Sirius shot us both a confused look, but I had pulled Regulus by the ear already, before anyone could say anything. I let go of his ear once we were out of the common room.
He started to rub his ear, "First off, that hurt! Second off, are you scare to tell them that your plan to kill or defeat Tom involves killing yourself. We were both there! Rare magic kills rare magic. He trust you because he knows he can't kill you and you can't kill him. Unless you want to die."
