"It's fine mom, I had it checked out. I went to the hospital to get it bandaged up."
"Oh honey I'm just making sure you're okay."
"I know ma. It's fine really, I was just gonna bandage it up myself but I ran into a doctor at the store and they suggested I had it looked at as well."
"Good thing you listened to them! You wouldn't want an ugly gash on your leg, specially with your movie coming up."
"Yeah that wouldn't be good."
"Well I'm glad you had it looked at." I can hear her shuffling around, she's probably making dinner since Scott's in town. "So Scott said you were coming over tomorrow?"
"Yeah, yeah I think I should be able to make it. Carly said that the kids wanted to do the big fireworks this year, so I can't miss out on that haha."
"Okay good, well then I'll see you tomorrow honey."
"Alright ma, sounds good. Love you, bye."
"Love you too, bye bye."
Man, I really thought she was gonna get mad at me. Good thing I listened to that doctor. I mean I can't say she's a good doctor since all I know about her is that she drinks wine on Thursday nights. But she seemed smart.. and pretty.
Oh well, it's not like I'm actually gonna run into her again.
"Hey bubba? Where are your Dodger?"
In comes running Dodger with his favorite lion.
"Hey there bubba," he licks my nose as I scratch the back of his ears, "Aren't you the sweetest thing ever, yes you are."
We spend the rest of the day lounging on the couch. I read a book, have a small dinner and take him for a walk before we decide we should just go to sleep.
"Tomorrow is gonna be a fun day Dodger," I whisper to him as we fall asleep.
The following morning I was debating whether I wanted to sleep in or go out for a run. I ended up going for a run since I knew Ma was gonna make a lot of food today.
The neighborhood was quiet this early in the morning. And considering that today was the Fourth of July and a Sunday most people probably decided to sleep in. The sun was out early, and the air felt great.
I ended up only doing a mile run and taking a shower as soon as I got home.
By the time I got out of the shower Dodger was still sprawled out on the bed and my phone was going off with notifications.
I go to twitter and see fans messages.
Happy Birthday Captain America! Congrats on making it to 103! xx
I let out a laugh. I scroll through a few more comments and like someones tweet wishing me a happy fourth. I mute my phone and head to the kitchen to make a small breakfast.
Should I make coffee? Nah. I decide on just some eggs whites with spinach and a glass of orange juice.
Scott is probably gonna want us to have a barbecue and have Ryan grill all day. So I should probably leave space for all the food.
Around midday I get Dodger in the car and head over to my mom's house. Once I pull in I can head the kids in the back playing.
Dodger always get super excited to play with the kids. I play with him and all, but it's not the same with the kids. It's like they never run out of energy.
