ANNABELLE LUPIN-BLACK

It's been... well I don't know how long it's been since Theo left. I just know I regret it. I wish he never left. But he couldn't stay. It wasn't fair to him. I needed to be alone. I can't make him take care of me and watch me fall apart like this. Especially not after his mother. Theo is too good for me. It's not that I don't love him. I love him enough to let him go. The only thing I'm worried about besides Theo is Draco. I've written 5 letters now and gotten nothing in return. I suppose they aren't being delivered because of his fathers house arrest but still. I have a pit in my stomach. A gut feeling that something bad happened. I hope I'm wrong. I was laying in bed and staring at the same page of a book while I sipped on a bottle of muggle alcohol. Then I heard voices and laughter downstairs. Laughter. My heart swelled and I smiled. I knew it had to be impossible. But this is the wizarding world. Sometimes impossible is possible. So is it possible that when I walk downstairs I'll see my dads laughing together. Maybe. Maybe Sirius came home. I ran downstairs and into the living room. I followed the laughter but then I froze. It wasn't my dad's laughter and it wasn't my dad. I went in and I saw them on the couch. Sipping from a flask together and sitting too close. It wasn't Sirius. But it was someone.

"Are you fucking kidding me?!" I yelled. They both looked at me quickly. "Anna, I thought you'd be-" he started. "What? You thought I'd be what?" I yelled. "Sleeping. I didn't know- I wouldn't have-" he stammered. "What? If you knew I was awake, you would have waited to fuck some slag!" I yelled. The strangers face dropped. "Annabelle! He's just a friend." he said. "Bullshit! Maybe I should just be grateful you waited for Sirius to die. Now you aren't a cheater, your just a fucking douchebag!" I yelled. Tears filled my eyes and Remus stood up. "Language!" he exclaimed. "Piss off." I spat. He sighed. "Annabelle. Grant is just a friend. He wanted to-" he started. "Fuck. He wanted to fuck." I said. The man stood up quickly. "No, we are just old friends. I wanted to check on him, since I heard about Sirius." Grant said. "Don't fucking speak about my father." I snapped. "Annabelle, can we please just speak about this in private." he said. "No, I don't want to hear whatever bullshit excuse you come up with. I can tell when two people are into each other. I'm not blind. Your friend was practically eye fucking you." I said. "I wasn't- I know your father from St. Edmunds. We are friends." Grant said. I started laughing. "Wait- Grant- St. Edmunds- old friends." I said. They nodded strangely. I laughed even harder. "Dad told me about him." I said. "What?" Remus exclaimed. "Dad talked about a kid named Grant. Said he was an old flame of yours. Bloody pissed him off. I can't believe this." I said. "Sirius should not-" Remus started. "I can't believe the second Dad dies you go off and find your old fuck buddy from your days at a fucking orphange!" I yelled. "Annabelle, we are not- that's not what this is. We just saw each other today. He came to check on me. Make sure I was ok." Remus said. I scoffed. "So what Grant? This was like a gift. I'm sorry your husband died, here let me fuck you and make it all better. You know most people bring flowers or a casserole but I guess sex works too huh?" I yelled. "I should go." Grant said. "You think?" I snapped. "Grant, I appreciate you coming. I'll write to you." Remus said. He nodded and smiled. Then he left. "Annabelle, that was so inappropriate." he said sharply. "No! You know what's inappropriate, hooking up with someone literally like 3 months after dad died. After my mother killed him. I don't understand-" I started. Then I heard a knock on the door. "Bloody hell! Do you have any more sympathy fucks coming today?" I yelled. He exhaled heavily. "No Annabelle. I'm not expecting anyone else." he said. Both our faces fell. Nobody should have been able to get past the wards without letting us know. Dad and I drew our wands and went towards the door. "Stay back." he said quietly. I nodded and stayed behind him. He went to the door and opened it. "Took you long enough." I'd recognize that sassy voice anywhere. "Miss Parkinson..." dad said with a small laugh. I rushed over and standing in the door was Blaise, Pansy and someone I didn't know. "Nice to see you teach-" Blaise teased. "Yes, Mr. Zabini. Nice to see you all." he said. I glared at my dad. "What do you want to shag one of them?" I snapped. His face turned red and my friends looked confused. "I'll be upstairs Annabelle. I hope you'll let me explain once you've cooled off." he said. "Not likely" I mumbled. He smiled at my friends and left. "Does your dad have a crush on me?" Blaise asked with a smirk. I rolled my eyes. "Not on you." I said. Pansy elbowed him and he dropped it. "What are you guys doing here? If Theo sent you-" I started. I heard a scoff and he stepped into view. Theo. He was here. I knew we both missed each other but neither of us showed it. I kept a blank look and so did he. "I didn't send them. In fact, I don't even know why we are here." he said. "Great, then you should leave." I said. "Why? So you can try to drink away all your problems?" he snapped. "Yes, that's exactly my plan. Shouldn't you be shagging a waitress and turning them gay?" I snapped back. Blaise whistled and Pansy laughed. "That was one time." he grumbled. "Just leave Theo. I gave you an out and you took it. There's nothing else for us." I said. He looked at me sadly and I fought back tears. "I told you. She hates us just as much as she probably hates herself. This was a waste of time." he mumbled. "Theo, stop." Pansy said. I started to leave and shut the door but Blaise stuck his foot in the way. I kept walking and went into the kitchen. They followed. "We need you." Pansy said. "Not interested." I said as I poured a drink. "Anna, this is important. We need your help. This supersedes you and Theo's relationship." Pansy said. "We don't have a relationship. Didn't he tell you, he doesn't want any part of my slow suicide." I said. "Anna, it's about Draco." Blaise said. "Draco's done with me too. He won't return my letters and I even tried to go to the Manor. Nothing. So I don't-" I started. "You went to the Manor?!" Blaise exclaimed. I shrugged. "Yeah, so?" I asked. "What did you see? Did you see anyone?" Blaise asked. "Or maybe hear something? Tell us everything." she said. "What's going on?" I asked. They all looked at eachother. "You have to tell her." Theo mumbled. "Tell me what?" I asked. "Draco's in danger. He asked us for a favor. Get Astoria and Daphne Greengrass and take them somewhere safe. He can't see us this summer, his house isn't safe." Blaise said. "What the fuck does that mean?" I asked. They were quiet. "Just tell me!" I exclaimed. And they did. I wish they didn't.

By the time Pansy and Blaise finished explaining and showing me the letter, I felt sick. Theo by the window smoking and now Blaise and Pansy both had a drink too. Draco and two young girls were being forced to have sex to try and "fix him". He was alone and scared and still all he thought about was Astoria and Daphne. That's why he hasn't written and we haven't seen him. "Don't worry, we have a plan. We are going to save them." Blaise said. "But that's not enough..." I said. "What? What do you mean?" Pansy asked. That's not enough. "We need to save him too." I said. They exchanged nervous glances. "He told us not to come. The letter said-" Blaise started. "I know what the letter said." I said sharply. Blaise nodded. "We can't just leave him there. You guys can't tell me it didn't cross your mind too. We have to at least try." I said. They nodded. "She's right-" I heard a strange voice and turned around. A stranger had walked over smiling. I instinctively reached for my wand. "Anna, it's ok. He's fine." Blaise said, grabbing my wrist. I stopped and looked at him. "Have you been here the whole time?" I asked. He nodded. "Oh- um- ok" I said. He was standing in the back I guess. I looked at the stranger and forced a half smile. "Who's your friend?" I asked. "I'm Lorenzo Berkshire. Most people call me Enzo. I just got back into town from Durmstrang-" he started. The second he said that everyone tensed up and I felt a pit in my stomach. Great, a fucking Durmstrang boy. Because that went so fucking great the first time. "Did I say something?" he said, clearly confused. Blaise and Pansy looked at each other. "I thought you were going to talk to him." Pansy mumbled. "No, I didn't know what to say." Blaise whispered. "Nice, nice going Blaise." she whispered. He shook his head and sighed. "What happened? I'm confused." Lorenzo said. "You need to leave." I said. "Anna, he's our friend. He's not like Dono-" Blaise started. "Don't!" I yelled. They all went silent. "Don't say his name." I said. They all just stared. Enzo looked at me and I just walked out. I ignored them talking and went upstairs. I wish they all stayed away.
