It was the day of the ball and I was dreadfully excited. Julia and Alexa were already in Ginny, Hermione and I's room getting ready. I was waiting outside the portrait for Pansy. I saw her walking over with her dress and shoes. "Hey Pansy! Are you excited?" I asked. "Absolutely! This should be brilliant!" she said. I nodded. We went up to my dorm and everyone said hi. Then we began to get ready. I was taking pictures as we put on makeup and did our hair. Pansy is really good at hair. She braided mine and did Ginny's too. I took one last picture of all of us together, then we went down. I loved my outfit and I really hoped Theo liked it too.

They all met their dates and Cedric was in awe when he saw Julia. She looked beautiful in her lavender dress. Alexa wore a navy blue dress and George loved it. Pansy was going with Blaise and he smiled when he saw her. I saw Draco with Astoria Greengrass. I couldn't help but notice him looking past her. I couldn't quite tell who he was looking at. I wish he could go with a guy. A guy he liked. Draco Malfoy may be a dick but he deserves an epic love story. Everyone does.
I tapped Theo's shoulder and he turned around. He looked great in his tux. He just stared at me. "What's wrong?" I asked. He smiled. "You look incredible." he said. I smiled. "Thank you. You clean up nice." I said. He nodded. "Should we go inside?" he asked. I nodded. When we walked by his friends, they stared. But then again, Harry and Ron's faces were exactly the same.
Shocked.
We watched the champions dance first and Julia smiled as she danced with Cedric. Hermione danced with Krum and that wasn't surprising. I had a feeling he was her date. Harry was a nervous wreck, I could tell. He danced with Pavarti and she was a good dancer so he didn't mess up. Finally, everyone got to dance. Theo held my waist and I held his hand. He smiled at me as we danced. I swear it was just us in that room. The whole world melted away and it was only us. Only him and those blue eyes and brown curls. Him and me. Me and him.
The night went on and everyone danced like a mob to the band. It was great. There were no house rivalries, no feuds, nothing. Just kids having fun. Pansy and I danced together and she was good. She pulled me against her body and swayed to the music. It was awesome.
Harry and Ron sat there moping all night. "Are you guys going to do this all night?" I asked as I sat down to rest. "Shouldn't you be with the snake- oh I mean Nott." Ron snapped. "Shove off Ron. At least he had the balls to ask me. You're mad because Hermione went with Krum because you were too scared to ask her." I said. He rolled his eyes. "Yeah right." he mumbled. "Fine, sit here and mope all night. But at least give your dates the respect and tell them it's alright to go dance with someone else." I said. Harry turned to Pavarti and Padma and nodded at them and they sighed in relief and left. "You look beautiful kiddo" I turned around and dads were standing there. I didn't know Sirius was coming. "They didn't have a Yule Ball for us so of course I had to crash" Sirius said. I laughed. Then a slow song came on and I looked around for Theo. "Go find him," Remus said. I looked at them hesitantly. "It's ok, go dance with your date." dad said. I smiled and walked over. Theo stood there and I rested my arms on his shoulders and did the same on my waist. "I know everyone is staring but I only see you." he whispered. I smiled. "Why'd you ask me to the ball?" I asked. I knew why but I wanted to hear him say it. "You know why." he said softly. I looked into his blue hues. "Say it." I said. He smirked. "You first." he said. I chuckled to myself. "I like you Theo Nott." I said. He smirked. "I like you too Annabelle Lupin-Black." he said. We danced until only a few people were left. "I'm going to go to the loo." I said. He nodded and I went down the hall. I went to the bathroom and on my way back, I heard noises coming from the broom closet. I opened it and much to my surprise, I saw Draco and Oliver Wood, snogging. They quickly jumped apart and I saw the fear in Draco's eyes. I shut the door and walked away and started to leave. The door opened and Draco came storming after me. This is not going to be good. He grabbed my arm and dragged me down the hall.
"Malfoy, slow down" I yelled. He turned around in the empty hall and looked at me. There were tears in his eyes but he forced them away. "If you tell anyone what you saw, I will-" he started. "What? What are you gonna do?" I asked. He shook his head. "I already knew Draco." I said. His face dropped. "What?" he asked. "I knew about you a long time ago and I didn't say anything. I never will." I said. "If you do, I'll kill you!" he spat. I didn't let him scare me because I knew deep down he was scared. "Ok." I said. He stopped pacing in front of me. "It's not my story to tell. I really hope one day you get to be who you really are, and love who you want." I said. Then I walked away. I saw Oliver Wood and walked up to him too. "I won't tell anyone." I said. He smiled. "Thanks Annabelle." he said. I nodded. Then I headed back to the party.
I looked around but I couldn't find Theo. I went up to Pansy and she was with Blaise. "Have you guys seen Theo?" I asked. They both shrugged. "Do you want me to help you look?" Pansy asked. I shook my head. "It's alright, I have an idea of where he might be." I said. They nodded and I said goodnight to my dads. Then I headed to the Astronomy Tower. I got to the hall and took off my heels because they were killing me. It would also help me sneak around the halls better. Then I began the far walk to the tower. I really hope he's there because I'm exhausted.
