Drunk

ANNABELLE LUPIN-BLACK

"Me" I turned around and saw Harry standing in the doorway. "You have to be fucking kidding me?" I snapped. "Language!" my dad exclaimed. "Oh come on like we haven't heard Sirius use every curse word in the book when he plays quidditch." I said. I turned back to Harry. "You were spying on me?" I asked. "No. I noticed something was off with you and Edmund. When I asked your dad, he told me what happened." he said. "Bloody hell, do I not get any privacy?" I asked. "No. You do not when you make foolish choices." he said. "Foolish choices. What happened to not judging who people love? Huh dad?" I asked. "It's not the same thing Anna and you know it." he said. I sighed. "I tried, ok? Maybe I'm not as much of a Gryffindor as I thought." I said. They were quiet. "Being a Gryffindor doesn't mean you aren't allowed to be afraid. It means you don't let the fear control you. Just like you can't let Edmund control you." dad said. I looked at him and his smile. "Ok." I said. "Ok?" Harry asked. "Ok, I'll do it. Today. Right now." I said. Dad smiled. "Do you want me to come with you?" Harry asked. I nodded. He smiled. "Ok, let's go," he said. He took my hand and we walked to the Gryffindor Common. He had checked the map so we knew where Edmund was. We got to the portrait and Harry said the password.

"Just wait-" I said. He stopped and looked at me. "Are you ok?" he asked. I nodded. "Listen to me, Just break up with him and it's over. I'll go in and stand off to the side but I'm right there if you need me ok?" he said. I smiled. "Thanks Harry." I said. He nodded. Then we walked in. Edmund was sitting at the table and Harry walked and sat down at the couch and pretended to read a book. I walked over and stood next to Edmund. He looked up and glared at me. All his wounds from Theo were healed but he was still mad.

"What do you want?" he asked. "We're done Edmund. I can't be with you anymore." I said. He scoffed and stood up. "You're breaking up with me?" he snapped. "Yes. I'm sorry but you are manipulative and you hurt me." I said. "Anna, you love me and I love you. I didn't mean to hurt you. It's your fault for pushing me." he said. "But- you- I didn't-" I started. "I'll never do it again. Come on, after what Nott did, you owe me a second chance." he said. "You hit me first." I said. "I didn't mean to darling, you know about my temper." he said, stroking my face gently. My thoughts were racing as he twisted his way back into my head. "No. No, Ed. This- it's not love." I said pushing his hand away. He grabbed my wrist and twisted it. "You don't get to-" he started.

"Let go of her and step away." Harry said darkly. He had his wand drawn and he walked towards us. "Piss off Potter, this is none of your business." Edmund said. "You made it my business when you put your hands on my sister." he said. "She's not your sister." Edmund scoffed. "Let go of her or I'll show you what happens when you hurt the people I care about." he said. Edmund let go and grabbed his stuff. "Whatever, she was a prude anyway." he spat. Then he stormed off.

I watched him walk off and I felt Harry wrap his arms around me. I cried in his arms and he just held me. "It's over. He can't hurt you anymore." he whispered as he rubbed my back. I nodded.

Later that night, I couldn't sleep. I snuck out of bed and headed to the Astronomy Tower. I sat with my feet dangling over the railing. I let the cold air give me goosebumps and looked at the stars. "Fucking hell" someone mumbled. I turned around and Theo stood behind me.

"You really are everywhere." he said as he stumbled over. Theo was drunk. He walked over to the wall and pulled a loose brick from the wall. There was a pack of cigarettes stuffed behind it. He smirked. "Secret stash." he said. He sat down next to me and lit a cigarette. He took a drag and pulled out a flask.
