1 MONTH LATER...
ANNABELLE LUPIN-BLACKAfter banging on his door for about 5 minutes, Draco opened it with a huff. "Go away" he snapped. "Get dressed. We have plans." I said. He raised his eyebrows as I pushed past him and walked into his dorm. "What the fuck, Anna? You know I have to-" he started. "Work on the cabinet. I know." I said. "Then why are you here?" he asked. "Because for the past couple months you haven't done anything but work on that stupid cabinet. You haven't spent time with your friends, you haven't gone on a date, you haven't done anything you like to do." I said. "So?" he said. "I'm not going to let him ruin your life." I said. "He already did." Draco said. I sighed. "Get dressed. I mean it." I said. He sighed and pulled out some clothes. "Where are we even going?" he asked. "There's a quidditch match today. Slytherin vs Gryffindor. We are going to watch and support our team." I said. He exhaled heavily as he pulled on his trousers. "You're so bossy." he said. I chuckled. "Maybe." I said. He finished getting dressed and then we headed down to the pitch. Pansy was standing there waiting with Astoria and Enzo.
We went up to the bleachers and found some seats. A few seconds later, the game began. As people started cheering, Draco got into it. He started clapping when Slytherin scored and yelling when Gryffindor did. He looked happy for the first time in a while. "Come on! That was a cheap shot!" Draco yelled. I chuckled. Eventually, Gryffindor won. Draco talked about the game and how close it was the entire time we walked to the locker room. We waited for Theo and Blaise and Draco was making jokes and laughing. He was a person again. When Theo and Blaise came out, Astoria kissed him and I looked away. "Great job, Blaise." I said. He smiled. "It was a close one, mate. Weasley got lucky." Draco said. They began to talk more about the game and future strategies as we walked back. "We should really stop hanging out with Theo and Astoria if it's going to break your heart every time you see them together." Enzo whispered. "It's fine. I don't even care." I said. He nodded. Just then, Slughorn approached us. "Hello students. Mighty fine game today." he said. "Thank you, sir." Theo said. "I'm having a bit of a party, before Christmas break. For the Slug Club. So Annabelle, Blaise and Astoria, you are all welcome to come and bring a plus one." he said. "Thank you, sir." I said. He nodded. "It'll be sort of like the Yule Ball you all had a few years back. I heard that was great fun." he said excitedly. My stomach lurched. Everyone looked at me and my face fell. "Well, I'm off. See you all there." he said. "Annabelle, are you-" Theo started. "I'm fine." I snapped. "We should go. I promised Theo I'd help him celebrate if you know what I mean." Astoria said. "We know what you mean." Pansy said as she rolled her eyes. Then they left. "Are you sure you're ok, Anna?" Draco asked. I nodded. "You'll be my plus one, right?" I asked. He laughed. "No way! I don't want to hang out with Sluggy." he said. I groaned. "Enzo?" I asked. He sighed. "Do I have to?" he asked. "Yes." I said. He chuckled. "Fine," he mumbled. I smiled and kissed his cheek. "Thank you." I said. Pans, do me the honor of accompanying me to Sluggys party?" Blaise asked as he dropped to one knee. "Oh piss off." she said. "Please Pans. It'll be more fun if you're there." I said. She sighed. "Fine." she said. "This will be so much fun!" I said sarcastically. We all gave fake cheers. "At least we get to go dress shopping." Pansy said. "I guess that's a perk." I said. She chuckled.
1 WEEK LATER...
Slughorn's party is in 3 days and Pansy and I waited until the last minute to go shopping. Nobody really wants to go to this party. It's more like extra credit than it is fun. We decided to go to Hogsmeade, to the dress shop we went to before. "Are you sure you're ok with this whole thing?" Pansy asked. "I told you guys I'm fine." I said. "I know. I just- you like to pretend you're fine even if you aren't." she said. I smiled. "I'm ok, Pans. Really. I'm not afraid of some stupid party." I said. She nodded. "I'll stay with the crowd all night and I won't go off alone and I won't drink. I'll be fine." I said. She smiled. "And you'll do it in this dress." she said. She held up a gorgeous blue dress with gold details. "You always pick the best dresses." I said. "I do, don't I?" she said with a smirk. I bought the dress along with gold heels. Then we headed back to Hogwarts. I spent the rest of the night helping Draco with the cabinet.
