Banana peel slipped from my grasp and landed on my feet. The moist interior lay flat on my toes which added to my discomfort. Their gaze fell on the peel and travelled up my body.
Suddenly I disliked all the attention, which is strange because a person as charismatic as myself must be used to being the centre of attention, which I assure you, I am.

Only problem was that I couldn't see an exit sign in my vicinity. So if things got ugly, we all know who's getting a free pass to afterlife.

The girls watched me like a I  was the strange artefact in their museum; and the two guys crossed their arms against their chest and stepped before them protectively.

"Who are you?" I questioned.

"No, who are YOU?" The tall, curly haired, dark skinned man narrowed his eyes.

"Hey I asked first."

"And I don't care. So speak up or else--"

How welcoming.

I took a small but confident towards him.

I guess this is how we're gonna go about it.

Me and the big dude are probably a tie. I could just barrel through the girls, hoping they would step aside on their own;  the skinny blond guy would probably snap like a twig and then I can-

Nope. I can't do anything.

"Alright boys, no need to get confrontational." The short anime looking girl stood between us with hands on her hip.

"Yumiko stay back. We don't know what he's capable of." The tall guy warned her, keeping his eye trained on me.

Geez.

I'm capable of many things but attacking a cute girl is not one of them.

She turned and stared pointedly at my feet.

Yikes. So much for a first impression.

I shook  the peel off my feet. I wondered how dumb I looked trying to intimidate them with bio-waste on me.

My heart skipped a beat realizing that Glowy wasn't in my arms anymore.

"Why don't you start by introducing yourself?" The anime girl looked hopeful.

Something faintly glowed in my peripheral vision and it calmed me a little,  he was hidden safely underneath the throw pillows.

"Hello, my name is Deccan. Deccan Kurian."

The girl acknowledged me by giving a sweet smile.

I know who I'm gonna befriend.

"And I'm Yumiko Lin." She placed a palm on her chest and spoke slowly as if talking to a baby.

". . . this is Grant Washington." She gestured at man who was ready to beat the crap out of me.

"Amelia Jackson." Yumiko smiled at the blue eyed brunette who stood silent and stared at me with a judgemental face.

". . and Liam." She patted the blond twig man's arm. We stood in awkward silence waiting for the cute girl to continue.

"How'd you reach here?" Twig raised a brow.

"Where is here anyway?" I frowned inspecting my surroundings.

"Oh boy, where do we begin. . ." Miss Judgmental-Look sighed.
