Yumiko's POV

One of the jailer wearing a distinct leopard printed pant was accompanied by two identical tough looking men.

Repeated unauthorized interrogations were getting me anxious. None of the information we gave to plead innocence proved to be fruitful because I came to understand that these people  questioned us only to entertain themselves.

Almost like making caged animals do tricks.

I always had sympathy and soft corner for animals. Now more than ever, after understand what it feels like to be caged like one.

I was never fond, neither did much of hiking,  or roaming the wilderness. Which is mostly why  I felt my energy draining quickly compared to the rest.
Amelia's constant babble about how they mistreated us, Deccan's angry outburst a while ago and Liam provoking him and the hours of walking in the heat of summer.

Once darkness settled in, the leopard printed man sashayed in, unlocked our cells and informed, "Alpha want's to see ya."

"I figured." Deccan replied not giving a hoot about the creepy jailer.

The man's face showed hints of disbelief, probably expecting us to cower in fear. In a flash he raised his hands to hit Deccan.

I recoiled, expecting him to strike us after him. But Deccan stood unafraid. His behaviour encouraged me to be brave as well.

To show solidarity my hand moved to comfort him, but Amelia beat me to it. She squeezed his hands and he reciprocated faintly.

No I wasn't upset by this.
He needed support and she helped. It seemed to work, now that the jailer angrily walked away.

They guided us to a small hut in the brink of ruin. Two men exchanged words with the person guarding the door and he opened it enough for us to enter without hitting our shoulders on the door frame.

Apparently it was enough for me  to fit in but not so for others.

Due to the narrow gap and the unnecessary push, Deccan tripped on the uneven floor and fell with a bang

I witnessed the disaster because I stood behind him. But certain curious entities too wanted a glimpse of what was happening and elbowed me out of his way.

Alas! He wasn't aware of the pair of long legs that lay flat in front of me. Liam tripped over Deccan's ankle, partly twisting it before falling beside him.

Deccan's eye twitched on seeing his victim, but he kept quiet nonetheless.

The comedic timing of the entire show was something else but it also brought a lot of undesirable attention towards us. I nudged Grant and he helped the fallen people to their feet.

Deccan waved at the menacing audience. Clumsiness seemed to be inherent in our group, and it did amuse their leader.

"Look who it is." The woman who ordered us locked up sashayed her way to us, making several others bow in reverence.
