Deccan's POV

The very instant I jumped in, I regretted every second of my life.

On my already damp trousers and bare chest, additional frozen water felt like an embrace from Death himself. Even he wouldn't play with the thermostat. The water was murkier than it seemed from the outside and the fruits weren't worth this struggle I guarantee. I swam to Yumiko who looked at me alarmed. I reached for her hand, so that we wouldn't float away but she swatted away my arm.

She had a playful expression on her and here I wanted to get out of the water.
"You're tickling me!" She exclaimed.

Unless I grew a third arm without my knowledge, I don't know what she's on.

I told her that I had nothing to do with it and she almost immediately  ducked her head into the water and so did I.
A bright yellow eyed, ash skin person with seaweed hair with unnaturally long fingers that extended to claws; person was below us. Below me.

I could swear my heart rate spiked to a three hundred; what's scary is that you're purposely in the demon's domain and you can't outrun him. Or her.

My body paralyzed and I could barely move with the fear and in the process some water entered my mouth which choked my chest. Yumiko grabbed my arms and started swimming towards the embankment but a vice like grip latched on my ankles. The one on which Liam tripped.

I see, everyone had collectively decided to wreck my legs.

My head submerged with the tug and I was forced to open my eyes underwater. The crazy looking water demon moved to grab Yumiko but I had to do something, so that at least one of us could make it.

Without properly measuring my opponent I threw a wild fist. It would seem intimidating on land, but in water it swung in slow motion, which made me snort. Air bubbles from my nose covered my sight and that smart-ass creature took the opportunity and dragged me deeper.

My lungs were burning like crazy and my legs refused to cooperate. I couldn't even call it self defense anymore, because I jabbed my thumbs in it's eyes out of anger.

This is outrageous, because you don't ambush people who are simply trying to get their lunch.
The disrespect was astronomical.

But that did the trick. Ugly lost it's hold on my legs and the adrenaline pushed me towards land. I made sure to hold on to Yumiko because if she got stuck, I'm not making a U-turn this time.

Finally the land was in my reach. I pushed her before me in the outstretched arms of Grant and Dora. Once she was out, I hoisted myself on the ground and my arms and legs gave out. Like a sack of sand I plopped on the ground. Discomfort was at it's peak because something suffocated me from inside. I coughed hard to remove anything I may have unintentionally swallowed. My chest felt constricted so I rolled to my left side and lay there.

I could make out someone was speaking but I had no breath left to reply. My throat made hoarse sounds while clearing itself. Someone rubbed my back and it was soothing. Salty liquid formed at the back of my mouth and I spat it out.

I must be the most disgusting looking man right now.

Oh wait. Hex will beat me to it.

I weakly got on my fours and looked at my doctor. Beautiful, kind eyes gazed into mine with worry pooling in them while the damp hair stuck on the side of her face.
