I quickly straightened my clothes and picked my bow. I drew my arrow and waited in silence. The forest had fallen silent except for my heartbeat which thrummed in my chest. My eyes darted at every corner, expecting something to emerge.

Minutes passed and nothing happened. I was beginning to lose the excitement as I lowered my bow. I shrugged and thought it was my mind playing tricks. But I wish that was the case.

That's when a spine chilling roar echoed from behind me. I spun on my heel to see a mangy, rotten stag, five times the regular size. It had dirty yellow antlers with some brown skin suspended from it, the torn skin of it's prey. The eyes were missing and had been replaced with maggots wriggling in them. The natural brown fur on it's underbelly was coated with dried blood and hooves caked with mud. It's limbs were as tall as me, so you can imagine how wide and threatening it looked.

The stag like creature tumbled into the pond and let out another scream. Only when it fell, could I view the contents on it's back. Not a thing, but a girl.

A girl clung on the stag's back, digging her fingers deep into it's furry body. She yelled commands in a language I couldn't comprehend, and that is scary because I have learnt almost all the widely known international languages, for better communication with the business partners of course.

Holding on with one hand, she unsheathed her knife, placed at her lower back and stabbed it.
I automatically cheered at the bravery of this girl, but all it did was agitate the creature more.

It roared and bucked violently throwing the girl off, slamming her into a tree. The fall was so hard that the sound resonated in my ears. The girl lost conscious and her head fell limp against her body. I screamed my lungs out as I had just witnessed a murder.

The creature locked it's eyes on me and I was paralyzed waist down. The time slowed and seconds stretched. The stag bounded towards in slow motion and my stupid legs didn't move. If that weren't enough, something hit me from the left side and I was thrown on the ground. I closed my eyes on impact and felt the heavy thing lying on me. Once my body shook out of it's useless state, I opened my eyes to find the most unexpected thing.

Deccan's body pressed strongly against mine shielding me from whatever was going on behind. He roughly cupped my face and inspected it with his big brown eyes.

"What were you thinking?" He shouted, his face a hairs' thickness away from mine. He hastily got up and pulled me to my feet revealing the long silver sword hung on his waist from a makeshift belt. Behind his back, a full blown battle was going on.

Grant dodged around and hit the creature with his mace, which seemed to have grown a little in size while Liam threw rocks in every direction, confusing the creature. A white and brown werewolf were swiping huge claws at the creature who roared and stampeded aimlessly. The force of it's stampede rattled the trees nearby which broke their highest branches. The branches came crashing on Liam and Grant. They weren't fast enough, but thankfully Amelia pulled them under her faint white bubble. The branches crashed harmlessly against the top of the dome and fell aside.

"The g-girl!" I held Deccan back. He gripped his sword strongly as if planning to jump in between the fight. I shook my head at his urge of going into the battle.

"Who girl? There's a fight going on right now." He said walking away turning his back on me.

"Arghh!" I said with frustration and accidently grabbed him by the bad shoulder and dragged him around the water body, on the opposite tree where the girl had fallen.

"AAAH YUMIKO!" He cried out in pain as I didn't stop. I ran pulling him behind me.

I crouched near the girl and he gasped at the fact that there actually was someone apart from us. He immediately came down beside me and moved the hair off of her face to get a good look.
