"Well what?" Amelia asked, eyeing the jewelry.

"I will explain. These beautiful necklaces are specially handcrafted for each one of you. Wear it at all times and this will help you understand any language spoken here and your speech will be understood by any creature here. Due to obvious reasons not everything can be translated at every moment, so I thought of getting these made for you." She swayed it like a hypnotists coin.

"That's very thoughtful of you." Yumiko smiled and acknowledged which only got her to get more excited.

"I am thoughtful." She agreed.

She distributed the necklaces to each of us and when I received mine, I was impressed.
It was thin, silver, curb chained petite necklace with a small rectangular black pendant encased in silver borders. It had an initial engraved but the letter was in another language. I slipped it on with ease and it settled perfectly between my collar bones. Everyone had similar designs that varied a little in colours.  Yumiko and Grant got brown pendants while Liam and Amelia got dark yellow ones.

"Great necklace, but I'm still . . . hungry." Grant winced.

"Yes. You can eat to your hearts content after the sun sets." She answered and moved to her dressing mirror, searching something.

"Why? Is it a rule to eat after dark?" Amelia gulped nervously looking at her rummaging the drawers.

"There's no rule like that, that would be absurd." She chuckled with her back turned.
"But the feast will be after sun set. Incase I have forgotten to mention, today is my brother's anniversary. My parents have called in an open feast and celebration for all the elven nobility. There will be dancing, eating, and everything fun! Of course I can order in meals for you all, but ordering food worth filling seven stomachs is going to doubt the servants. And that's the last thing we need. So best is to wait for the ball and then eat your fill."

She's thought of every outcome. That's clever and I respect that.

"Hmm that's true. Is there anyone who knows of our presence?" Liam folded his legs and sat more comfortably on her bed.

"My mother."

Silence shrouded us. We all looked at each other in shock. Her mother, the Queen knows of our presence.

"Is it the one who you were speaking to? Near the stairs?" I asked warily.

"Yes and you have nothing to worry about. She's the sweetest nobility you can find out there." Anarzia smiled at the jewellery she held.

"However the problem is that, she's knows you're here as my friends. But she doesn't know that you're a group of humans." She quickly lost her smile.

"Well it was nice knowing you guys." I sighed and plopped back on her bed.

"We're screwed. " Liam rubbed his eyes with the heel of his hand.

"What'd I tell." Dora casually stretched and sat on the flush couch in the corner of the room.

Easy for her to say. She has nothing to worry about.

"At least I die a full stomach." Grant said defeated.

"No. No one is dying. Least of all today." Yumiko got up from beside me and spoke determinedly. "Can you help us with disguises? Anything, anything that would make us look like regular elves?"

Anarzia rubbed her chin and sat on vanity chair. "There's my personal boutique down the hall where I can get you our clothes that have charms on them which will make you look one of us however it wears off after some hours, I'll have to call in favours from my helpers . . . but it can work."
