I stood by the door of the meeting room, one similar to the main palace. Warm tones of teak brown and dull red painted the room perfect for important meetings and discussions. Queen gave her personal security a series of instructions to which he bowed and exited the room. The King ordered the short blue skinned elf who was by him during our little meeting after the birthday blow-up. Duchess looked bored sitting in one of the head chairs playing with a long strand of her hair.

The siblings sat perfectly still beside the Duchess like the sophisticated children they were. My friends however suffered minor cuts in their arms and legs after the battle. Which brought me to do a retake at the siblings who looked clean and tidy without any dust or soot on them.

After distributing work and instructions to the manor employees, the King and Queen took their place at the front of the long rectangular table.

"I think we should sit." Liam motioned with his head at the table.

"Wait for their permission." Yumiko nudged.

"Join us." Duchess responded overhearing. I let others sit on their places of choice. Telsin's gaze lingered on me for a minute.
"Deccan did you perhaps . . . wet your pants?" He asked quietly, which echoed for a silent conference room.

Couple of giggles and an awkward cough followed his statement with me  quickly checking my pants which weren't wet, but the stain of the light yellow juice near my forbidden grounds was practically indistinguishable from actual urine.

"Juice. A small accident with my friend before the blast." I made a poor attempt at wiping it. The right leg of my pants hung loosely against my waist because of the vertical side tear near the stitches.  I caught a chair away from everyone and sat near the corner of the table.

A part of my thighs and calves were exposed because of the wardrobe malfunction. I held the flaps of my pant and sat cross legged; incase anyone took a peek at the stain.

"This situation has worsened and--"

"I JUST HEARD WHAT HAPPENED." Dora burst the door open behind me and I jumped out of my seat due to the subsiding adrenaline.

"It's okay, Deccan." Yumiko whispered and clutched my hand, prodding me to remain seated.

Hex appeared behind her out of breath. "The story has flooded the towns. I heard it from group of gossiping vendors and immediately came." Her eyes darted at each one of us and landed on my pants.

"Don't ask." I said. She nodded and pulled a chair from the corner and sat near the King. He raised a brow at her proximity to him but remained silent.

Hex eyed the empty place between me and Amelia and plopped before we could object.

"As I was saying." King sighed. "Since the past few months worst of our fears have become reality. Forces have grown more stronger as they pillaged a village at the outskirts. And now with the attack at Duchess Rinae's home, I'm shocked to see their extent and dare." Glorian rubbed his temples.

"I heard they looted Labanthum's cattle." Killian muttered coolly, like it's didn't concern him.

"Thank you, son." King cleared his throat.

"Can you explain from the beginning as to who these people of things are?" Grant hopefully looked at the three royalties.

"Forces, they're servants of darkness. Home of the merciless. Evil that plagued our world from the very beginning of time. Their approach is usually stealthily, which is why this attack surprised us all. Ambushing us in front of the high and low alike, is not their style." Imara glanced worriedly at her husband.
