Map didn't provide us with much information, except the entire gist of the journey. We had no clue of the directions and coordinates.

Our infectious enthusiasm started waning as we just stood there blankly with the exception of some staring at bunnies.

"So, we just start walking in this forest? Isn't that dangerous? " Amelia stared at the wilderness.

"This can't be it. There must be something around here to help us." I opened my bag and pulled out Glowy.

"Hey, help me out. Where should we go from here?" I spoke to the ball.

"Is he well? I don't think so--" Amelia whispered.

"He feels me when I pick him up. I think he'll be able to navigate--  aaaaannd you don't believe me."

Bewildered faces watched Glowy with great interest. I sighed and outstretched my arm toward them.

Hesitating,  Grant took Glowy from me and held him.

"Okay I don't see anyth- Ouuu" He dropped Glowy and jerked his hand away.

"It's burning!" Grant exclaimed and Liam bent to inspect it. He stuck his finger on the surface and pulled it away quickly.

"Hot indeed."

Satisfied by their reaction, I briskly walked and picked up Glowy with ease. They stared at my hands in awe. "See? He's very much aware of who's handling him."

They looked at one another and then back at me, nodding at my claim.

"Where were we? Any ideas as to where do we go Glowy?"

"Hold on. Glowy?  When and why did you name him that?" Yumiko giggled.

"The way he glowed during our first night together, and how he abducted me to another world.." I gazed down at the glass sphere adoringly.

" That's sounds so wrong BAHAHAHA--" Amelia and Grant doubled over clutching their sides.

Smiling I shook my head and repeated the instructions.

"Obviously you cannot speak, how about playing a game of hot or cold? If we're going the right direction, you will become warmer and vice versa." I explained to the ball.

As if understanding my words, the swirls moved faster in the sphere. "He's listening. Let's move."

We started walking deeper and deeper into the mystical forest, as per Glowy's instruction.

Couple of times before we walked into dead ends, Glowy would emit an unforgiving chill on my hands, making us run in circles before regaining his regular temperature.

We came across flora that I've never seen nor heard of. The different types of fragrances coming from the trees and the wet earth caused me a sensory overload, however, that was not the case for all.

"That is the Santalum fernandezianum, also known as the Chile sandalwood, a tree that grew on the Juan Fernández Islands.
Unfortunately these babies were heavily exploited in the 1600's. Oh! The banded trinity! those are the Thismia americana, one of the most extraordinary plants to be discovered . . ." Amelia kept pointing at random trees telling facts.
