THE NEXT DAY:
I've decided to hire a private investigator, cuz I know I can't rely on the cops. And I need somebody I trust and who'll let me in on the situation, so now I'm getting dressed to meet him at some cafe.I throw on a simple hoodie and joggers wit some sneakers, hair in a regular ass low ponytail cuz my mood really done been on a whole nother level. Bae I need you to come back. And itty bitty, I need you to stop making mommy so mf sick every goddamn morning.
Angelas been a big help making sure I'm taking care of myself n all, but I really just want a mf hug, from my baby, and I need to know if he's safe, I need him to be safe.
I drive there in silence, not in the mood for radio, no music could even help me right now.
I walk into the cafe and look for the table in the corner, Agent Jones texted me n told me he's wearing a black Nike jacket. He's one of the best-rated private investigators in La, so I really hope he can help.
I spot him and walk up, sitting in the chair he pulls out for me, he reaches for my hand when he sits back down and shakes it. "Ms.Clark?"
I send him a small smile, "You could call me Ta'Tiana."
He nods, "Nice to meet you Ta'Tiana, I'm Agent Jones, You could call me Dionte, I wanna start by telling you a bit about myself just because, you're putting your situation in my hands, I wanna build a foundation for that, let you know you made a solid decision, you know?"
"Yeah, I appreciate that." I nod.
He shrugs and smiles, "So..., I'm 28, grew up right here in La, went to high school literally down the street, top of my classes, went to morehouse tryna get a degree in criminal justice and uh..." He smiles a little bit, looking down, "college wasnt for me, so I dropped out after 2 years, enlisted in the marines, served for 8 years and...here I am now" He looks at me with a humble smile.
I give him a look, "How'd you go from the marines to private investigator?"
"Well I wanted to be an investigator for lapd but it, it just aint work out."
