The Xelqua curse began as a story among young Watchers. It all began two hundred years ago when the youngest male of the stars experimented on normal Watchers.
Not all Watchers were mean. Not all Watcher's attacked the innocent. Just the one's with the Xelqua Curse.
Xelqua's curse began with an experiment of the Void Kin. They put the youngest Watcher through hell to try and break the curse free of a magic wielder. The curse moved to another body, another carrier. From there, the youngest Watcher of one family would be cursed.
Forever to live a life of pain and suffering.
An uncontrollable urge to fight.
Uncontrollable actions.
Uncontrollable powers.
Until that one Watcher who defied the curse and buried him deep in his subconscious as if he were just another persona.

Grian Xelqua Light, youngest of his family, Dissociative Identity Disorder (or so he's told), and cursed with his Xelqua counterpart. Though he was taught Xelqua was a persona, not a curse. He learned of the Xelqua curse when he was reading on the history of the counterpart's mark.
A black sun.
It held meaning behind it. When he grew angry, the veins around it would darken to where you could see them show on his pale skin, they always went black instead of blue or purple. He tried to stay away from anger to keep that from happening.
The last time he allowed his anger to take over his mind;
Xelqua destroyed Evo.
Grian blamed himself for all his friends dying. He blamed himself for outcasting himself. He blamed himself for Xelqua.
Grian however, had a second counterpart, a mid-morph between his evil half and himself. The mid way point, the warning.
Xelian. He referred to himself as the master of the air and colour. Xelian's wings were purple with a hint of red. Grian's were parrot colours. Xelqua's, black as the void.
Xelian has as much control over Xelqua as Grian. None. Xelqua is fueled by anger and neglect. He grows stronger with how much anger is built up.
Grian stood in front of his mirror and stretched, once his wings folded back in, he opened his eyes and saw the purple irises of Xelian.
"He's coming."
"Xelian!?" Grian shouted, knowing he was near talking to himself, "Xelian! Who's coming?!"
