"Etho..."
Grian's eyes changed colours and he engulfed himself in flames as he changed his form, then flew out of the arena. He scanned the city and couldn't find anything. Not even a trace of Etho. It was almost like he just never existed.
As he was flying over where he sent Xisuma, something pulsed through the city, temporarily disorienting him but also forcing him to change human, unconscious as he plummeted to the ground. Lucky for him, Xisuma was around where he was and helped portal him to the ground.
When Grian did hit the ground, he woke up and weakly pulled himself to his knees, Xisuma by his side supporting him.
"You okay, Phoenix?" He asked, "That was a pretty heavy fall."
Grian rubbed his head with a groan, "I can't keep my form... What on Earth was that?"
"I don't know, but it's not effected on me."
Grian glared at him, "Thank you captain obvious." Grian tried using his powers but they only came off as sparks, "My powers aren't working."
"Aren't your powers connected with-"
"Etho..." Then it hit him, "They're extracting his powers. Call the team, we need to act fast."
It took days until they received a message from the villains. They all met in the woods where nobody could act.
"Where's Etho?" Grian demanded.
"Who?" The lead chuckled, knowing Grian was still powerless, "Oh, the little ice bird."
"Where is he?"
"He's alive. I'll give you that."
Grian grabbed one of his throwing blade on his side, but Xisuma grabbed his wrist, "No. Not yet." Xisuma whispered, "Bring us Etho, and we'll let you go. For now."
"Ugh, very well." The lead snapped his fingers, "Bring the Phoenix. Let them have their toy."
Grian once more grabbed his blade and pulled it out of the holster. Xisuma took the blade away and glared at him.
"If not now then when?!"
"After we get Etho, idiot."
The villains handed Etho over with no hesitation. Grian could tell by his partners greying out skin that his powers were weak but still there. Out of rage, Grian grabbed his blade from Xisuma and threw it through one of the villain's throats.
"Consider that a warning."
~Four Hours Later~
"Grian Xelqua Void." Their lead started, putting a picture of Grian on he screen, "Turned out you idiots grabbed the wrong Phoenix. We need the fire power of Phoenix. Find him, and bring him to me....
At all costs."
