Chapter 5

This is so awkward. We're eating our lunch together here at canteen. He doesn't seem bothered with each stares some student giving to us. I am eating silently while still processing things and why would he drag me just for a lunch.

"Tapos ka na?" I was startled when he spoke.

"Y-yeah..."

"Hindi mo pa nakakalahati ang pagkain mo," the butterflies in my stomach continuously to flutter starting earlier and I think that explains why I am already full.

"Ayoko na eh."

"Tss. That's the reason why you have a not-so-strong stamina..." he mimicked me at the last words. Maarte ang pagkakasabi niya.

"Eh ayoko na nga eh, bakit ba?" I hissed him I regret it immediately. We're not close to talk to him like this.

"You're too thin." my face heated. He insulted me!

"Eh ikaw? You're a short guy!"

I heard him chuckled. "Wow, ang tangkad mo ha..." my face heated again. I know I am a petite girl too.

"Okay lang sa akin iyon, eh ikaw, guy ka eh. Ang tatangkad ng mga friends mo. Ikaw hindi."

"So?"

"W-wala... sinasabi ko lang."

"Magaling naman ako magbasketball," he smirked. "MVP pa."

"You're so arrogant!"

I heard him laughing. I stopped for a moment. I think this is the first time I seen him laughing. This is... new to me. It's so refreshing to see him laughing. I blinked twice. I forgot that the man I am talking with is Khiel. I mean we're not close and I am saying those things to him. I wonder if he's somewhat offended or what.

After lunch, we decided to go back to our room and spend our remaining time there. I feel relief when I saw that there's no students other than us inside. I bet they're still eating their lunch. Kumain na kaya si Kate?

I was shocked again the next morning when I saw Khiel waiting for outside our room. He is leaning on the wall. He stood up straight when he saw me.

"Oh, I see," I heard Kate mumbled. "Una na ako Lianna kung ganoon. Bye. See you this afternoon na lang." she smiled. However, my eyes remained to Khiel. Now, he already marching away.

Silently, I tailed him until we reach canteen. The next day's still like this. Hindi na ako tinatawag ni Kate tuwing lunch because she knew that I am always with Khiel during lunch. I can't help but to think more of it. Why?

Bakit niya ginagawa ito? Bakit niya ako kasamang kumakain tuwing lunch? Sometimes too he is joining me while waiting for my driver to arrive after dismissal of classes.
