Crying on the Bathroom Floor

Michael

Hurricane Luke has come and gone, and you could tell. There were clothes everywhere, water everywhere, food everywhere. The place was just a mess.

Calum never came back from the store so Luke went crazy. At first Luke was worried something happened to him but soon that changed to him thinking Calum had met some girl and went home with her. I didn't really care. I was just focusing on my game as Luke was whining to me about not being able to make Karlie her favorite dinner. Then I said something about taking her to Maccas and that's when the shoe got thrown at my head and Luke exited the apartment rather dramatically.

I knew that him and Karlie would be okay and she wouldn’t really care. All I could actually think about right now is Bella. She really hasn’t been well. She kept telling she had been getting sick really easily and been dizzy and terrible headaches. I try not to worry about her too much but honestly I was starting to get a bit scared. She would be fine though. It’s porbably just some girl thing.

I heard the front door open and close and know it was either Luke coming back because he forgot to do his hair perfectly, Calm had finally returned from his mysterious adventure, or Bella just walking in without knocking like she always does.

“Mikey?” She calls in the hall so I know it is her.

“In the lounge!” I call back, not really looking away from my game.

“Hey,” She says and sits on the arm of the chair.

I look up momentarily at her. “Hey,” I say back with a smile and Bella smiles too.

“What’re you playing?” Bella asks, but she doesn’t really sound that interested.

“Just GTA.” I shrug. Bella never really liked video games. She says she likes watching me lay them but she doesn’t actually want to play them herself. That’s okay though, I don’t really mind.

“Michael,” Bella speaks softly, “Can we talk?”

My ears perk up instantly. Never once has it been a good thing when a girl asks me if we can talk. It’s always something really serious and me and Bell, well, we have never really been that serious. Originally when we got set up together it was just to make Luke and Karlie happy and we went along with it. They were pissed that they didn’t have a couple to hang out with anymore because Calum is a dick. Anyway, so we just went with the flow but then we started to actually like each other and next thing I know I told her I loved her and she said it back. It all moved pretty fast if I’m being honest. I’m surprised that a year and a half later we aren’t engaged or something like that with the pace we were moving.

I pause my game and shift slightly so I am facing her. “Yeah, sure baby,” I pull her from the arm and onto my lap. “What’s up?”

“You know how I haven’t been feeling well lately?” Bella says hesitantly.

“Yeah.” I nod.

“I think I might know the reason, but I’m not really sure.” She looks at me shyly and grips her purse a bit tighter.
