Karlie

God I miss being able to drink. I never really enjoyed it. I wasn't someone who ever had a favorite drink. I couldn't tell you the difference between spirits or the best mix for cocktails. I just drank to get drunk. Don't get me wrong, when I could drink I wasn't the girl at parties who ended up with her skirt off, sick down herself and dependent on her boyfriend to carry her home. I never ever did something like that, I just got drunk enough to tolerate all the other drunks and then sobered up if I had to. Watching everyone around me be drunk made me realise how much I needed a drink. It also made me realise how little I'll be able to drink from now on. I have a kid. Then again, that isn't stopping Becca.

"Karlie!" She sings my name out, sitting down next to me. We've spoken since our fight, of course, but it's not been anything substantial and I still feel like shit. I need to stop giving her shit. I can't give her shit for her decision with Calum, I was ready to cut Luke out of our son's life. Why couldn't she cut Calum out of Talia's.

"Hey Becca," I grip hold of my pathetic plastic cup of cola, wish that I wasn't pregnant and could mix it with some vodka. Shots would probably be better.

"Have you seen Talia?" Becca says with a little giggle.

"Mia and Ashton had her the last time I saw them," I simply shrug back, remembering them holding tightly into Talia's little hand as she strutted through the apartment of party-goers. I think she was enjoying the attention of being one of the cutest people at the party. Sophie was of course in joint first with her.

"Are they not drinking?" Becca sways slightly.

"Becca," I sigh. "You weren't supposed to be drinking, remember?"

"Oh." She says softly. "Shit," She now cries. "How are me and Tally meant to get home?"

"I can drive you... but maybe Talia should stay with Calum tonight, yeah?" I say as gently as possible. I haven't seen Calum much. He's actually been avoiding me I think. He seems to leave a room as I enter, smiles sweetly at me and then exits swiftly. Things have always been weird for us, always. Never like this though, never this... uneven.

"But Calum's drinking..." Becca shakes her head.

"Yeah," I nod. "But Calum isn't drunk, and he's got the whole apartment to himself tonight after everyone leaves since-" I was going to remind Becca of the little romantic night Michael had planned for him and Bella when I have Becca's hand slammed over my mouth.

"Shhhh!" She hushes me sharply. "It's supposed to be a surprise!"

"I know," I move Becca's hand away. "I was just reminding you."

"Have you spoken to Calum tonight?" Becca changes the tone of the conversation quickly. Her voice serious and nervous.

"No, why?"

"I want to talk to him."

"Haven't you already?" We've been at the part for nearly an hour and a half. I would've assumed they would be talking since they've been sleeping together.

"No." Becca gulps and shakes her head. "We talked about Talia right at the start before I..."

"Started drinking." I finish for her without hesitation.

"Yeah," She admits. "And then, nothing. The conversation went cold." Becca sighs dramatically. "Things weren't awkward for us this morning, what's changed?"

"Maybe... maybe something with the boys?" I guess. "Maybe he told them about what happened between you guys and they said something." I didn't really know if that was true or not but I saw the way Becca's eyes widened in fear.
