Michael
"Stop." I rest my hands on Bella's shaking knees.
"I can't help it." Bella tells me shyly. I could still feel her legs bumping up and down. "I'm nervous."
She had every right to be nervous. We were telling our parents. It was two days ago that we (and seemingly every other friend we have) found out we were going to be parents. I was thankful though that I wasn't in Ashton's position. He told his mum and she smacked him upside the head. Then she saw Sophie and apparently was all smiley. That's what Ashton told me anyway.
I was terrified of telling my parents. They were cool and normally would treat me like a grown up and stuff but I don't think they will be happy at all with me when they find out Bella is pregnant. I'm also shit scared of Bella's dad. I think he might kill me. That's why we are in a restaurant telling then over lunch. There will be witnesses.
"I am too." I wrap my arms around Bella. "It's okay." I kiss her temple.
"Lovebirds!" Someone calls and Bella and I both snap our heads up when we hear Bella's dad's voice.
I stand up when I see him. Taking my hands away from Bella. "Hello Mr-"
"Michael," Bella's dad sighs and smiles. "You've been with Bella for a while now and I always have to remind you to call me Chris." He holds out my hand to shake.
"Sorry sir," then I correct myself. "I mean Chris."
Okay, Bella's dad was totally cool. Like really, really cool. He never disapproved of me, ever. Even when he found out I wasn't going to college, or when he found out I dropped out of school, or that all I wanted to do was make music all day. He helped me get a job in the record store me and Calum are working at. My dad and him are best friends. They have planned out a camping trip for my dad, me, Bella's dad and her older brothers, who were all really cool too.
"Hiya Bell!" Chris plants a kiss on top of Bella's head.
"Hi dad." Bella says quietly and I wait for Bella's mum to join us before I sit down.
"Hi Michael." Bella's mum nods at me and we both sit.
"Hello Mrs - Jo." Mrs Jo, great one Michael. You would think this was the first time I have met them with the way I was acting.
Jo was lovely. She was a lot quieter than her husband but still as nice. She always made me feel welcome and treated me the same as Chris does. At first I thought she didn't like me because she rarely spoke but Bella told me it was just because she was quiet and soon after that I wasn't as worried anymore. She once told me I was the favorite boyfriend that Bella has had. And according to Bella's oldest brother, that's a lot. It doesn't bother me though. I've never been afraid about our relationship. I've always felt safe and secure with the way it is. Now I feel like because we are having a baby I have to double that. For our baby's sake.
"Are your parent still coming, Michael?" Chris asks me.
"Oh," I realize I was daydreaming. "Yeah, they are."
"Good." Chris nods. "I wanted to talk more to your dad about camping."
"Okay." I say back.
Bella's family is originally from America. They moved over to Australia when Bella was twelve, when she met Karlie. Her dad owned a huge ranch in Texas that they got from her grandpa, who got it from his dad, who got it from his and so on and so on. They still own it, plus a home in Hawaii they use for vacations, a flat in London that Bella's third oldest brother owned when he was going to university their, a ski lodge, and so on and so on... Not to mention their mansion-like home here in Sydney. It was pretty incredible. I had been to two out of the five I mentioned. Bella wanted to take me to the ski lodge this coming Christmas. I wasn't 100% on board though because Bella might have money, but I don't. I'm living with two other guys, I work in a record shop and eat frozen pizzas everyday.
