Trial Run

"Talia!" I yell, trying to find the two year old girl. "Talia!"

I check the bathroom cupboard and then behind the shower curtain. I try the hall cupboard and behind the curtains. So now I was beginning to panic. Where could she have gone? She isn't magic, she can't just disappear. Becca was right, I am so not ready for this.

I go into the living room and see Becca sitting on the couch with a magazine and a smirk on her face. I sigh when I walk through the door.

"Found her yet?" Becca smiles.

"Yeah," I says sarcastically. "I just turned her invisible once I found her."

Becca lets out a laugh. "I told you," she says. "Talia is the best two year old hide and seek player in the world."

"I know." I groan.

"Do you give up?" Becca grins at me.

"No way!" I say quickly and continue searching for Talia in the living room.

After what happened with Luke I went to Karlie's. I'm staying with her just now until I decide what I'm going to do. I think I might try and get an apartment by myself so I can have Talia over and get her a room. Karlie's is great but there are only two bedrooms and she needs one. I can't be taking up the extra space.

When I first got to Karlie's I didn't say much. She just let me in and made me some tea and something to eat. She left me alone for a while in the living room and I think she called Michael or Bella to find out what happened. She must have found out and came back through to talk to me. She told me I could stay with her for as long as I like but that she doesn't want me fighting with Luke anymore. I tried to tell her I was trying to get Luke to see sense but she just told me that if Luke didn't want to be in the baby's life she wasn't going to force him and she didn't want anyone else to either. So that was me told and I just excepted it. Then we started talking about Talia and Becca. I told her how I was scared that I would never be apart of Talia's life since I wasn't wanted in the first place. Karlie then told me that wasn't true.

"She wanted you there," Karlie told me. "She really did. It was ust something she couldn't do."

"But why?" I asked. "I'm Talia's dad. She can't keep me from her."

"She didn't want to. You know the way Bella's parents reacted. Bella's nineteen, Becca was seventeen." Karlie said. "It was their idea, not Becca's."

So when I found this out I called Becca, the next morning of course because by then it was like midnight. I spoke to her on the phone for a while before she agreed to let me have a trial run, at her house, with her being present. I agreed and that's where I am now. I tried to see if Ashton had any tips for me but there is a realy big age gap between Sophie and Talia so nothing he told meis really helping. I can sometimes get Talia to sit still on my lap but then she wants to go exploring again. It was frustrating but I would just have to deal with it. I was trying to show Becca I could handle that.

"She isn't in here." Becca laughs as I continue searching.

"You might be helping her." I say back to her.

"But I might not be." Becca shrugs.

"Don't try and confuse me, I'm easily confused." I tell her.

"I remember." Becca laughs and I roll my eyes.

I continue my search through the living room, leading to the kitchen, then the bathroom again, then the hall, then Talia's room and finally I go back into the living room. Becca was now reading a book with some coffee. I sigh and sit down on the couch. Becca grins at me before I yell, "I give up!"
