Y/n POV

Y/n sniffled as she let a tear run down her cheek.

For nearly the last 2 hours, she'd been crying nonstop on her bed, hugging one of her pillows as she lay on her back, staring up at the ceiling.

"We've barley been together for a day, y/n, and you've already made a list of times we've been alone together?" he'd said coldly.

She squeezed her pillow tight and furrowed her brows with anger as she replayed the argument back in her mind.

I can't believe that he thinks that I was using him as some kind of trophy!

"...Are you going to use me to brag, y/n? Because I'm the number 2 hero's son?" he'd said nastily.

Y/n yelled out in frustration and shoved her face into a pillow.

Finding out that he was embarrassed of her would have been awful, but it would have hurt less than finding out that he thought she was using him for popularity. She'd felt so upset, so stung when Todoroki had looked at her with that icy, cold glare and started throwing wild accusations everywhere.

"You have to prove to everyone and yourself that you're worthy of a spot here."

Like everyone else doesn't have to? Gosh, how could you say that, Shoto?

"Maybe, y/n, you decided to go even further... like dating a top hero's son, so you could start climbing the little hero social ladder, starting at U.A."

She groaned loudly and threw her pillow across the room in a fit of rage. It landed on the floor next to the window.

She sighed and stared at the knitted pillow. It was the the dark green and yellow one she'd made with Hana last year using a craft kit.

Naturally, Hana had made a pink and purple one, since those were the colours she wanted for her hero costume when she grew up, and had insisted y/n do the same with the colours of her 'future hero outfit'.

She felt a little bad for throwing that pillow in particular. Y/n softened her frown for a moment and relaxed her clenched teeth. She exhaled and rolled out of bed, dragging her feet along the carpet to grab the pillow on the other side of the room.

As y/n picked the pillow up, she noticed something underneath it. She knelt down to take a look.

It was Todoroki's shirt. The one he'd given earlier so that she would stay warm.

Y/n's eyes filled with tears again and her lip began to quaver.

"Keep your crappy theories and entertain yourself." I said to him.

She gripped his shirt in her fingers as she slowly sunk down into a seated position. Y/n shakily brought the dark shirt close to her face. Oh god. It still smelled like peppermint...

"So then you told everyone we're... dating." he'd said.

Thinking about it from his perspective... the constant pressure of being the number 2's son... people have probably tried to use him for popularity before...

The tears began to stream down her face as y/n started sobbing. She realised that maybe that was the reason he'd wanted to keep the relationship more private at the beginning... Honestly, y/n hadn't really considered Todoroki's feelings towards the openness of their relationship at all before she'd made it public...

Oh my god... I ruined it.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Y/n walked over to the door, still holding onto his shirt, a snivelling mess.
