Chapter 28 - Showdown

"Come in." called out a familiar voice. 

Y/n opened the door to find Todoroki slipping on a new U.A uniform shirt. She couldn't help but stare in his unzipped shirt in awe, his gleaming abs on display. 

WOAH.

She felt herself go red. He noticed her staring hard at his chest. He smiled ever so slightly and walked up closer to her.

"Hello." he said, closing the door behind her. Todoroki gave her a quick kiss on the cheek, making her blush even harder. He zipped up the rest of his shirt and sat down on one of the chairs next what looked like a meeting table. 

He seemed to be in his normal mood now.

"Uh, h-hey!" y/n greeted him. She hopped onto the chair next to him, trying not to appear too flustered. 

"Are you okay?" he said in a slightly worried tone. "I'm sorry about your match with Iida. You almost got him." 

"Oh! It's okay!" y/n grinned with slight embarrassment, scratching the back of her head. "Yeah, he's really fast." She cleared her throat again and looked Todoroki in the eyes, gently taking his hands into hers. "But what about you? Are you okay?" she asked, concerned. 

"I'm fine." he sighed, nodding his head.

But I can tell that something's changed...

"Sho... what happened there? What did Midoriya say to make you...?" y/n asked tentatively, caressing her thumbs over his knuckles. 

He stared back at her intensely, a contemplative look on his face.

"He... told me that it's my power." he replied in a low voice. 

Y/n widened her eyes in surprise. She stared at his left side, her eyes taking in his crimson hair and electric blue eye. For some reason, small tears started to form in her eyes.

"Does... does Midoriya know?" she asked quietly. 

"As of recently, yes." Todoroki nodded. "You and him are the only ones." 

She nodded. Y/n gazed at both sides of his face, a loving smile beginning to form. Midoriya was right. It wasn't just Endeavour's passed down quirk. She felt grateful to the jittery, green-haired boy.

Midoriya... you have a heart of gold.

Suddenly, both of them heard a loud noise from outside the room.. Y/n turned around just in time to see a flash of blue zoom down the hallway. 

"What was that?" she asked. 

Todoroki shook his head and got up from his chair.

"It looked like Iida running, but I may be mistaken." he speculated. 

She raised an eyebrow in confusion. Iida? Why would Iida of all people be running down the hallway? He usually scolded people for doing just that-

Just then, Aizawa suddenly appeared at the door. He walked quickly into the room, despite being still wrapped in bandages. 

"Oh. There you are, y/n." he sighed, making his way over to a bewildered y/n and Todoroki.

"Mr. Aizawa?" Todoroki said, confused.

"Sensei?" y/n asked, equally stunned. The tired teacher sighed and looked at both of them seriously before fixing his glare to her.

"There's been a change of plans." he began. "Unfortunately, Iida has just had a family emergency and had to withdraw." She gasped in dismay.
