Sunrise (Todoroki x Reader)

Chapter 26 - Preparations

"So then I told him to talk to Uraraka." y/n said to Todoroki, both of them sitting on the ground of the training room. 

They were taking a much-needed break in the middle of their combat training session. He nodded and drank some water from his water bottle. She rolled up the ankles of her sweatpants up and adjusted her loose tank top as Todoroki leaned his head against the wall. 

"Huh." he said in response, furrowing his eyebrows together. "...Did Midoriya, by any chance, talk about his quirk training?"

"Hmmm... yeah, I think he mentioned something about it." she remembered, wiping the sweat off her forehead. Todoroki looked at her with a contemplative expression.

"What did he say?" he asked, a hint of curiosity in his voice.

"Oh, just that all of the things he's learnt here so far is helping him improve his control over his quirk and stuff." y/n explained, taking a swig from her own water bottle. She suddenly remembered something amusing and put her water down. "It's funny, you know, when he was talking about his training, it almost sounded like he was about to say 'training with All Might'." she chuckled. Todoroki looked seriously at the floor, raising an eyebrow in thought.

"Interesting." he said quietly. 

She looked over at him curiously, tilting her head.

"Why'd you ask?" y/n asked him, studying his expression.

"Just curious." Todoroki answered, shaking his head. 

He turned around and looked at y/n, a small smile on his face. She looked back at him, a happy look on her face. He was wearing a white tank top and some black sweatpants. She stared dreamily at his toned biceps, feeling a fluttery feeling in her stomach. 

He noticed her looking and tilted his head.

"...Y/n?" he said.

"Hmmm? Yeah?" she answered, looking up at him in alarm.

"...What are you looking at?" he asked in a low voice. She chuckled lightly, her face going a little pink.

"...You." she answered. 

She scooted over and ran finger slowly down his arm. He watched her carefully, a glowing look in his eyes. Her hand reached his hand and she locked her fingers into his hand. She giggled.

"You look good in tank tops, Sho~" y/n whispered to him. 

He smiled at her and squeezed her hand tightly, making her heart race. Todoroki took her hand into both of his hands, holding hers up with one and stroking over it with the other. He looked at her with an enticing expression and kissed her hand, making y/n blush profoundly.

"Thank you, sunshine." he whispered. 

She felt her face go red and she looked down in embarrassment. Y/n took another swig of water to calm herself down.

"Anyway. Are you ready for another round?" he said smoothly, raising one eyebrow.

Damn... I'm still surprised at this... flirtatious side of him. 

I'm not complaining, though.

She chuckled at him and promptly got up.

"Only if you are~" y/n teased, extending her arm out to him. 

Todoroki took it, got up, and pulled y/n closer to him, to her surprise.

"Challenged accepted." he said, gazing at y/n intensely in the eyes. He let go of her arm and she moved towards the centre, readying herself into a fighting stance. She looked deep into Todoroki's eyes, challenging his intense stare.
