Sunrise (Todoroki x Reader)

Chapter 25 - Sunday

Y/n POV

She yawned as she slowly opened her eyes.

Mmm... is it morning?

She moved to roll over, only to realise that someone's warm arms were wrapped around her waist, spooning her from behind. 

Her eyes suddenly widened when she realised where she was.

Oh! I fell asleep in Todoroki's room!

She looked down and realised that she was still wearing his hoodie. Y/n smiled to herself, playing the pleasant memories from last night over again. She then loosed his grip around her slightly, trying to not to wake him. 

Y/n flipped herself over and gazed affectionately at him, propping one elbow up on the mattress as she leaned her head onto her hand.

He looks so peaceful when he's sleeping...

She gently ran her hands through his hair, ruffling his two-toned locks. He stirred a little, opening his eyes one by one. Todoroki stared at y/n for a while before focusing his look into her eyes as a small smile appeared on his face. He propped himself up to his side, mirroring y/n's position.

"Morning, Sho~" y/n said sweetly. 

"Good morning... sunshine." Todoroki said suavely, making y/n's cheeks turn a little pink.

Did he just...?

"...Sunshine?" she asked with a curious giggle.

"Yeah. Since you're always calling me Sho, I wanted to have a nickname for you too." he explained. "Is sunshine okay? Or would you like a different thing?" 

"It's perfect, Shoto. I like it." y/n beamed, taking his unoccupied hand into hers as he sighed happily. "But can I ask... why 'sunshine'?"

"Well... when we go on those early morning runs or walks, the sun is always just beginning to rise when I see you. So you're my sunshine." he said smoothly, making y/n feel butterflies in her stomach. 

She tilted her head and smiled lovingly at him.

"That's so sweet." she said softly, leaning in and giving him a little kiss on the nose. 

He smiled lightly, the morning light beginning to stream through the window screens illuminating his gorgeous heterochromatic eyes.

"Not as sweet as you." he whispered, cupping her cheek. 

Y/n giggled softly. She felt a tender, heart-warming feeling flowing through her chest and throughout her whole body. A feeling of gratitude. Gratitude that these hectic last few weeks of her life had turned out for the better.

I'm so happy that I got into U.A...

Todoroki sighed and lifted himself up to seating. He looked over at y/n.

"Do you have any plans for today?" he asked. Y/n propped herself up and sat next to him and yawned.

"Yeah... I've got a study session with Momo and Tsuyu at 10am, and then I've got to finish that partner project from class with Midoriya later." y/n listed. 

"Okay." he nodded.

"What about you?" y/n asked.

"I also have to finish my homework. I'm meeting Tokoyami for a study session at some point today. Y/n, do you want to meet for combat training at the usual time?" he asked. 

"Yes, of course!" she nodded eagerly. "And we could also meet for lunch, right?" He nodded in response.

"Yes, we could." he agreed. She looked over at the clock on his shelf. It was already quite late; they'd slept in for quite a while.
