Chapter 7: Confession

Eddie's POV

Eddie sits on his couch after he puts his son to sleep. Carla asks if Eddie is alright. He signs and this made her drop her bag and sit next to him. She asks what's seem to be bothering him.

He signs again and asks for advice. She nodded and listen closely.

"I fell in love with someone who is suppose to be my best friend," Eddie said he started shaking as he never really talk to anyone directly about this topic.

"Do I know this best friend of yours?" Carla asks raising her eyebrow.

He nodded and Carla suggests if it's another firefighter that he works with. Another nod.

"Did something happen?" She asks.

Eddie told him that he tried to kiss him but got rejected instead. Carla then asks what did Buck do? did he hurt you?

Eddie denied it and smile, Buck, understands it. He explained that he doesn't feel the same way but he will still be his best friend no matter what.

Carla asks then what's wrong? It the question that Eddie still haven't really figure out but he knows that he has to remove those feeling toward the other firefighter to move on... But he can't.

After he told him this, she questioned why to delete the feeling towards the other firefighter. He told him so that he could move on as he knows he will get nothing if he keeps his hope on it.

Carla then points to Eddie's heart.

"Deleting or turning off your feelings isn't easy especially towards someone you cared for so long, but why not change it. You can still love him as your friend Eddie, Yes you didn't achieve what your heart desire but you made it at least not hurt much.

And who knows, Buck may not be the only person that will make your heart fall in love yet again. Finding the right person isn't supposed to be easy, it's supposed to be special. And I hope you find yours someday"

She smiled and hugged him. After a second they let go and Eddie thank Carla for comforting him. She said that if she needs to talk he got her number just call. And she quickly said if not her then maybe the policeman that he had been chatting up lately.

He asks how did he know about Carlos and he told him that he is just a friend. She smiles and said that sometimes he talks while he text. He got kinda embarrassed and turns red again.

She told him that it's not embarrassing it's sweet. She waves goodbye and grabs her purse. Eddie smiled and told her goodbye as well.

Carlo's POV

They arrived at the hospital and the two ask where is David's Room is. The nurse points to the direction and they proceed to follow.

Once they arrived at the room they are greeted by 2 people waiting, judging from their look it seems it's David's parents. Carlos was about to head to his room when TK stops him. He can tell TK is afraid, and he never usually see this side of him unless his father is in danger. This just shows how TK truly cares about him even though their relationship is hard.

"Let's just leave, David said that if he and I were seen together he would lose everything," TK said grabbing Carlos's shoulder forcing him to stop.

"That's your excuse TK, As a friend, I know this is wrong to push you to something that you don't want to do but, you told me yourself you love him and he loves you and I can't let you just stand in the side because of his parents if he loves you then prove it" Carlos is deadly serious as he pulls TK overpowering him.

The two walk past David's parents who look at them. He didn't care, his friend wants to see him so he should see him.

There he is, David lying on the bed still unconscious. TK looks at him with tears forming in his eyes. He is glad that he is alive. He was worried that he could have died if the medic was a minute late as he lost so much blood. He was about to walk to hold his hand when the parents come in and interrupted them.

"Excuse who are you?" The mother asks.

"We're are friends of David" TK replied and Carlos was not happy about it.

"Oh, he has never mentioned you... Um," The father stops as he tries to get their name.

The two introduce each other and Carlos was about to tell them that TK is actually David's boyfriend only to be pulled to the corner excusing themselves.

TK beg that just go along he knows that it must be hard for him to witness his best friend not holding his boyfriend's hand but as long as he is here right next to him that's enough for him. Carlos breathes as he can't push TK further, he must know his boundaries as a friend.

The parents ask if everything's alright. They nodded.

After an hour or so a doctor came in and ask them to leave as the patient will undergo another examination to identify if there are other complications or damage. Carlos then questioned himself if everything that TK told him about David's parents is true or if he just exaggerating things.

But this changes when they saw a lesbian couple holding hands and carrying a baby. The look on their faces. Carlos and TK know it in the face of disgust and hatred.

"How come those people live a normal life, they should just die already," the father said.

"Don't worry Hun, once they go to the church and seek help, they will see that what they are doing is wrong" the mother replied comforting the father.

The family head in a separate direction probably to eat somewhere.

This made Carlos's blood boil. He wanted to follow them and told him what should be told. TK tried to calm him down but he knows this time he needs to tell this Homophobic bitch of a parent to shut the fuck up. True he never really let his anger out especially on people but this just made Carlos break.

"Who do they think they are! I thought they were good people, guess that was just a face as usual. How come people be so sweet on "normal" people yet cruel to gays" Carlos quotes the word normal.

TK gave Carlos a water bottle and ask him to calm down. He takes a deep breath and relaxes. TK asks that he just want to go home as he has a shift tomorrow. Carlos nods and drives him to his house.

He parks his car in the parking lot but just stays there. After what he just felt he needs some time to cool off. He decided to check his phone and saw a couple of miss calls from Eddie.

The sky suddenly started raining, which makes Carlos smile a bit more.

He grabs his key and starts the engine.

Eddie's POV

It's kinda late Christopher is already asleep not much happened as usual quiet after his son is asleep. That until someone knocks on the door at this hour. He wonders who could it be.

He walks towards the door and opened it.

"Can I come in?" Buck asks kinda wet.

He let him in and gave him a towel.

He is sorry for coming by so late, he just needs someone to talk to. Eddie asks Buck if he walks all the way here as he didn't see any car park in his area. The man replied that his car broke down not far from here so he walks through the rain to arrived at Eddie's doorstep.

He dried himself and Eddie gave him some of the clothes that he left. He changes into it and sits beside his best friend.

He asks if Taylor knows where he is. He states that she has to work this hour because of an emergency but he did let her know he would be out.

He looks at his friend still kinda cold. Buck asked if he has another blanket cause he still feels the cold. He said he will check and heads to his room.

As Buck waits quietly on the couch the doorbell rings and he decided to open it to see who it was.

He was surprised at who is on the other side of the door.

"Carlos," Buck said in surprise.

"Evan... I mean Buck" Carlos replied.
