Chapter 19: Alone and Wondering

A few days have passed. Eddie's arm can move more freely now and is less painful, Buck called Taylor many times but seems to be unavailable, TK decided to hang out with his dad for a while in texas while he figures himself out.

Carlos's POV

Morning

Carlos checks the fridge and writing notes on his notepad. He wanted to know more about Eddie and have at least a so-so date and dinner seems to be his best bet. He doesn't want to brag but he knows a thing or two when it comes to cooking.

He just needs to pick up some groceries cause his fridge is mostly empty.

Carlos grabs his phone and dials Eddie's number.

"Hello" a familiar voice spoke at the end of the cellphone.

"Christopher? Um is your dad there?" Carlos asks wondering about the man he is seeking.

"Sorry, sir Carlos. Dad left his phone when he left. he said he is just going to the therapist" Christopher replied as Eddie nodded.

"Are you home alone Chris?" Carlos asked the kid.

"Carla is here, she is making us breakfast" he replied and he heard a voice at the back saying "good morning Carlos!" Probably her.

At the fire station

Henrietta and Chim are talking about Maddie's depression and Buck is sitting at the table. He seems to be anxious as he tries to call someone.

Captain Nash notice Buck's behavior from a few days ago. He seems to be always on his phone waiting for someone to pick up.

Being his father figure he walks towards him and asks if everything is alright. Buck close his phone and said everything is fine.

"Well, it looks like everything is NOT fine, tell me" Bobby ask and sat beside the firefighter.

Buck opens his phone again and shows it to his captain... A bunch of unanswered calls from Taylor.

"Did something happen between you two, a fight or argument maybe?" Captain saw that this is bothering him for a few days. He sometimes loses focus and is always on the phone so whatever is going on it's serious.

Buck told his captain about what happened. Him staying at Carlos's house to help TK, and Taylor planning a dinner but he didn't show up. His captain nodded as the firefighter explained everything to better understand the situation.

Bobby suggests that let Taylor be, for now, she has to take care of her sister and let her get some space at least for now. When she comes back, then talk to her. As Bobby continues to talk the alarm rings and both men proceed to the firetruck.

At the 126 fire station, Austin Texas

His dad had a shift and he decided to surprise the others in the firehouse. Marjan, Judd, and Paul are talking at the table while Mateo is making coffee for everyone.

Owen entered the firehouse and they greeted him. "Oh, TK is here" Owen added before heading upstairs to his desk.

"Hey guys, miss you all so much" TK replied as the others stands up and hugged the doctor.

Mateo, Paul, and Marjan saw that TK still hasn't changed.

"You still haven't change TK, thought L.A. would have changed you by now" Marjan joked.

Judd asks him to sit down and eat breakfast with them. TK accepts and grabs a plate from the cabinet. He sits down as memories flashed in his mind. All the things that happened in the 126 when he was a firefighter and paramedic. TK then strick a question on where are Captain Vega and Nancy?
