Chapter 25: Regrets

Buck woke up early and decided to make breakfast for his guess, who is still asleep. As he turns the stove on, his mind seems to wonder what happened with Carlos and Eddie? He texted him around 3 AM yet didn't get any reply... probably because it's way too early.

As he continues his thought he suddenly smells something burning, he checks, and yep, it's the pancake alright. He sighs and grabs the bowl to try again, not burning it this time. Buck places the pancake on the counter and syrup next to it.

Buck, now bored as he doesn't have a shift or anything to do decided to make a cup of coffee and watch the city from his balcony, nothing new. It's not something he does all the time due to lack of time, but when he needed to clear his mind, it's his go-to place.

BUt before buck can even make it to his balcony, he heard a phone ring... he listen to find where the sound is coming from and saw it's TK's phone. He looks at him, still fast asleep. Buck took the phone to see who it was and to his surprise it was David...

He looks back at TK, still asleep and, Buck decided to not answer the call.

"This is for your own good TK," He said and turn off the doctor's phone.

Carlos's eyes open, he feels the light shining from his window indicating it's morning already... he didn't even eat dinner and yet it's morning already. He takes a deep breath and was about to get up when he realizes that something or someone is preventing him, keeping him from getting out of his bed... it's his boyfriend Eddie 'Can he even call him that yet? they never really made it official.'

He looks at the firefighter's face, his sweet and adorable details when he is sleeping, his warm presence that makes him never leave this bed and stay there for eternity. But such things can never happen.

As he observe the man's facial features, he suddenly heard the man's growl followed by his eyes opening. 

"Good morning, Carlos" Eddie respond, his eyes still adjusting from the bright light coming from the window.

"Good morning, Eddie" Carlos smiled and without even realizing it, his lips is already moving to close the gap at his.

The kiss you give to someone you call... Your World. 
Memories then started coming back to him, 

"Are you alright?" the firefighter ask and Carlos turn around and sat down. Eddie sat down as well and grab the man's shoulder asking him what's wrong.

"I... I can't believe I did that to TK" Carlos said, his voice alone showing regret and pain.

Eddie grabbed the man's face to look at him... Carlos feels so ashamed of what he just did. The firefighter said that what he did wasn't the smartest move but he should know that he is just a human, and mistakes happen.

"How did you know?" Carlos asks looking at him.

"Buck called me last night about what happened between you two... plus last night you kept saying sorry" Eddie replied, answering the man's question.

Carlos then ask if TK is in Buck's place and Eddie nodded in response. Carlos sigh in relief knowing that TK is safe and sound. Good thing he has friends that care for him... unlike him.

"Don't blame yourself, Carlos, okay...The thing with best friends is they are the closest person we know which makes them care more for us than any other" Eddie said grabbing Carlos's hand

He said that he is kind, smart, funny, organize, and just simply an amazing man, and he is so glad that he met him at that bar that night.

"Do you really mean that?" Carlos asks, smiling as he looks at the man in front of him.

"Yes, Carlos Reyes... I do mean it, every single word"Eddie responds and grabs the man's head pulling him for another kiss.

At New York 

A few days after the incident 

"I'm fine Taylor, I can walk, my legs aren't damaged," She said and slowly walk to her chair.

She apologizes and states that she is just trying to help her. Britney knows it and apologizes as well, she confesses that she just hates that feeling that her little sister is the one helping her not the other way around.

As the two sisters continue to talk, Taylor's phone rang again. Taylor looks at her phone then ignored it, asking to continue where they left off.

"Aren't you going to answer that?" She asks and questioned her if it is important.

"No, just my boss and my boyfriend" She respond and Britney was quickly taken back on how her sister casually just said that.

"What?! girl, she is your boss and your boyfriend. Those people are important" She replied and Taylor seems to not be in the mood.

Her sister notices this and then asks if something bothering her... maybe a friend of his that just kiss her.

"No, I'm not bothered. That kiss meant nothing" She respond kinda offended for some reason.

"Wow, so when we were in the hospital, you didn't catch any feeling when he gave you a hug?" She ask and Taylor was shocked.

"You saw that?" Her eyes widen after she said yes.

A brief pause happened, she isn't sure what to feel towards the man he barely knows. 'did I cheat?' she asks herself.

"So, what now?" Her sister asks which made Taylor confused and asks what did she mean by what she just said?

"I mean, you, having a feeling from someone is alright but, you already have a boyfriend, which makes things different" She responded

"Honestly sis... I don't know" She replied staring at the ceiling as the fan continue to spin. Her mind is all over the place.

TK woke up, looking at his surroundings, yep it's not a dream.

The doctor looks at the table next to him, he saw a plate filled with a few pancakes and a syrup next to it, with a not saying breakfast.

He stands up and wanted to thank him personally. He found him at last, but asleep at the balcony.

He grabs the blanket he uses and places it on the man.

TK looks at him as his heart melts away. He hates himself just thinking about him. The man is straight and in a relationship, why does his heart still keep him from moving on? What makes Evan special?

 He just smiles and head back inside and eat the breakfast that his FRIEND prepared for him, trying to keep his emotion checked because one wrong move can be the end of everything.
