Chapter 15: Gesture

Carlos's POV

It's just 2 PM still enough time before he can go to Eddie's house to give him back his phone, Carlos said to himself as he waters his plants.

As he continues, he was taken back when someone knocks on the door which causes the policeman to stop and check who is it.

He guesses that it could probably his parent or TK as they are the one who usually visits him.

After opening the door he sees the man he was about to visit... Eddie.

He lets him in with a bit of confusion as he thought he was going to his not the other way around. Carlos asks if Eddie wants coffee or tea and the firefighter decline.

Carlos took the phone from the table and gave it to the other man who seems to be bothered by something.

The policeman sits beside him and asks if everything is alright?

Eddie took a deep breath and said confess that when he was with his parents they told him about his ex George.

This made a surprise but confusing at the same time. He told Eddie that it was all in the past and he is better now.

Eddie told him that he should never feel scared to tell him if someone or something is bothering him. He is his friend now and he will always be there.

Carlos smile as he heard Eddie just saying that he will be there when he needs him. It may not be a lot for others but for him, that's enough.

Before, he admits that his dating history is not his best suit but he promises himself that someday he will find someone special... Or maybe he already did.

He looks at Eddie and asks if he is in a rush?

The firefighter responds that he isn't followed by a question "why?"

The policeman said that he is planning on binge-watching Doom Patrol and if he is interested he could join him.

Eddie nodded and just like that Carlos grab his remote, beers, and a bag of chips.

Few hours have past

Carlos is explaining about each of the characters when he got interrupted by his phone.

He excuses himself and heads to the kitchen.

"Carlos are you free at this hour?" Athena asks on the phone she seems in a hurry.

"Yeah Sargent, is everything okay? do you need help?" Carlos asks as he heard a car passing by... She must be driving.

"Okay yes but I need your help... I told Alex to hand over some paperwork and I was supposed to meet her right now but I need to save my husband, ex-husband, and his boyfriend from doing something stupid just because of that telescope" Athena respond still driving.

Carlos doesn't know what to say, a part of him wants to say no as he is with Eddie but a part of him also wants to help.

Even though he wanted to stay with Eddie he agreed to help Athena and she thanks him.

Carlos came back to the living room and told Eddie about helping Athena with grabbing some paperwork and he told him that if he wants to continue watching it he could stay and wait for him.

"It's not fun watching without you," Eddie said and smile. 'That is the cutest and cruel move you did Eddie Diaz... Now I clearly don't want to leave.'

"How about I just come with you?" He asks looking at the policeman.

Without any hesitation, Carlos allowed it.
