Chapter 14: Pretend

Carlos's POV

This is the worse... That is all that he can say to the guy in front of him. Nash the person that his mother set him up is self-centered.

He always talks about how good his life and his skill sets are and when he tried to change the topic he just continues talking...

They head to the cafe ordered a drink and while they are waiting he told him so much about the brain and the heart. TK is a surgical doctor but he rarely told him anything about the body only stories about his surgeries cause it gets boring sometimes... No offense...Please help me he said to himself.

As he continues to listen to the boring man his phone suddenly rings and when he inspects it's an unknown caller. Desperate to try to get out of the situation he excuses himself and took the call.

"Hello?" Carlos ask.

He then heard a familiar voice... Eddie. He told the policeman that he left his phone at his place last night and will pick it up later this evening.

Carlos joked about Eddie always forgetting his phone intentionally to see him but then said that he is free so he will give it back to him this afternoon. Eddie from the phone sounds confuses as he heard that he is supposed to be having a date with the guy his mother talk about.

The policeman mentioned that he isn't his type at all and for other reason, with that Eddie without any hesitation agreed to the other man and said his goodbye.

He gets back at the table and told his date that he needs to get back because of an emergency. Carlos lied... He grabs the drinks and left.

TK's POV

This is the worse day ever... I have to check on David... I ask the others if they are willing to switch with me and most of them agreed because he is a famous pop star... If only they knew how great he is really... Not.

Few hours have passed and he was doing some note-taking from the other patients when he heard a voice he never wants to hear.

"Can we talk?" David asks wearing casual clothes probably just got dismissed.

"I'm busy" TK replied showing no emotion to the man just continue writing the reports.

The man asks if later is good and the doctor still turned him down.

David explained that he is sorry for how he acted for a couple of months about their relationship. He said that they are finished so there is no going back but thanks for the apology.

The pop star said that he won't give up on them as long as he is still not seeing anyone.

"Actually he is seeing someone..me" Buck replied causing the two to look at him surprised.

Buck explained that he and TK have been dating for the past few days and it's been great so far. They had dinner and a beautiful evening at the park.

Buck then grabs the doctor's hand making it more believable. TK just join in and let Buck hold his hand.

Then David's father arrived and told him that the car is there... Just like that David walks away feeling regret about how he treated him.

When the pop star is gone TK quickly took his hand off the firefighter and asks why he did that?

"So he won't bother you anymore" Buck replied and puts his hand on the doctors' shoulder and looks at his blue with a hint of green eyes. He told him that he is special and deserve someone who will love him right.

TK felt this weird emotion again... Heart raising... Started sweating... Dopamine rushing into his body.

TK looks at Buck's ocean blue eyes he knew he needs to stop before he creates something that isn't real. Before he forgets the boundaries of their friendship.
