Chapter 18: followed My Heart

Taylor's POV

She woke up from Buck's bed alone. Taylor looks around to see if her boyfriend even came home that night. To her surprise nothing has changed, he didn't come home last night.

The wine and plate are still on the table. She looks at her phone and saw how many times she called him... 20 times.

She wonders what happened cause Buck said to her that his shift would end at night and he would be home by dinner. Taylor prepared a wonderful dinner but he didn't show up.

She tried calling Buck's captain and his response is that he was just visiting his friend Eddie at the hospital. She waited and waited until she decided to call it the night

She wanted to have a wonderful dinner with Evan before she leaves the city because of her sister being ill. He won't probably see him for a few days week at most.

Her flight leaves in few hours. She didn't tell Buck about it because she knows that he would come and she knows how important his job is to him and she wanted to tell him at the dinner but he didn't even show up.

She grabs the rest of her things and puts them in the luggage. She grabs her towel and proceeds to the shower.

Buck's POV

The firefighter woke up from a room that isn't fully familiar to him. He feels heat from the body next to him.

He looks and saw it's TK sleeping beside him without a shirt on. He observes and realizes he also doesn't have a shirt on. The firefighter observes further trying not to wake up the doctor sleeping beside him.

The TV is still on but on mute, food wrappers and beer on the table. He tried to observe further but he is limited because they occupy only the space of Carlos's Couch which is not a lot.

TK still asleep turns around now face to face with the firefighter unaware. Buck's heart is beating faster and faster probably because of the closeness of his friend next to him or his body touching his.

Did something happen? Did we do anything? Why are we not wearing any shirts? Questions started filling his mind, without any answer the firefighter left there just wondering.

TK moves closer and puts his arm around Buck. Buck is practically panicking at this point. He doesn't want to wake up the doctor but he also wants to get out.

"Just be with me please" TK whispered still asleep with his arms wrapped around Buck. He started remembering what really happened that night.

Last night

Buck learned that TK had tried to kill himself twice now and he isn't proud of it. They continue to watch a movie while they drink beer.

Buck tried to stop him from drinking but TK hold on to his drink and said that he just want to forget that he existed. Maybe drinking can help him with that.

His birthday is next week and he doesn't feel like celebrating. TK mentioned that on all birthdays David was there but never there at the same time.

He would receive presents, food, and gets a call apologizing that he won't be able to make it. TK just started crying again and Buck grabs the beer and hugs him.

He lays down on the couch and so did TK. They cuddled and fell asleep without even realizing what they are doing.

Buck just ignores his sensation and just lets the doctor sleep some more. He deserves it after everything that happened to him.

Carlos's POV

He didn't leave Eddie that night. Maybe because of his feelings for him or maybe just the kiss but whatever it is he isn't complaining. But he still wonders what happened to his best friend TK.
