Chapter 10: Trouble on the road (Part 1)

Eddie's POV

He helps his son get inside the bus filled with 12 students and 4 adults including the driver. 8 more students will be pick up from the bus and they are head out of the city. This made Eddie confuse because he thought that there are no parents on the trip except the driver and the teacher. He just brushes it off as they are probably just there to help with the kids. He hugs his son and says have fun and heads outside. Christopher waves goodbye as the bus starts to move and Eddie did the same.

Eddie smiled and heads towards the car.

"Thank you for giving me a lift I would drive but my arm is well you know and Buck is on a date with Taylor today, so glad you are free Carlos," Eddie said and heads to the back seat as the front passenger seat is being occupied by TK.

"No problem I don't have a shift anyway" Carlos replied. Tk intentionally coughs grabbing Carlos's attention. TK smirk and Carlos wiggle his head stating no.

"Oh yeah, Eddie I was wondering if you are free later? Carlos and I... Well Carlos only cause I can't cook, is cooking a meal for his parent's arrival" TK said and Carlos just wants to bang his head on the steering wheel so hard due to the embarrassment his friend put him through.

"I don't know it's a family thing I do not want to intrude" He replied.

"No, it's fine, right Carlos?" TK's smirk is so massive this just made Carlos more embarrassed and starts to turn red in irritation.

"I mean if Carlos wants me to?" The man at the back replied and Carlos didn't want to turn him down after what he did so he agreed.

Carlos drops TK to the hospital. Eddie also wanted to visit someone and ask him to drop him there as well.

Carlos asks if he could join him cause he doesn't want to wait in the car. Eddie asks why would he wait in the car? Eddie can just take a cab and not bother the policeman any further but Carlos insists.

They head inside and ask Oliver Buckley's room. The nurse told them the room number and proceed.

He opens the door and Maddie is still asleep. The door made a noise and she woke up surprised by the sudden movement.

The man apologized for waking Maddie up and she told them it's fine as she needs to wake up anyway to grab something to eat.

Eddie asks how is Oliver and she seems down. She said that he still has not woken up and the doctor will check him up later.

Eddie saw that Maddie is still tired and probably hungry. He voluntarily said that he can watch him while she gets some food and rest at her place for a while. She wanted to argue but Eddie won't quit.

After a whole conversation, Maddie finally gives in and thank him for watching him. Carlos asked if she needs a lift and She smile nodded thanking both men yet again.

Carlos and Maddie wave goodbye at Eddie and she closes the door as quietly as she can hoping not to disturb the man who is lying on the bed.

TK's POV

Alright, it's his room. You know that he said not to be around him if his parents are there. He opens the door pretending to write some stuff and take a peek if their parents are there.

"Oh, perfect timing Doctor Strand... I have to get some medicine for my wife is it alright if I leave you with him for a while?" David's father asks and TK had no choice but to nod and agree.

The man thanked the doctor and walks towards the exit.

He saw him still not awake but alive at least. He places his clipboard on the table and sits down next to him.
