That's all that's left now.

The King.

No longer just Prim, no longer the sister I used to tease or protect.

Just...

The King.

The one who controls the battlefield with a flick of her wrist and the blood of her enemies at her feet.

She turned slowly to face me, still holding Vincent's hesad like it was just a trinket she found lying around. If I didn't know better, I'd say she was proud of herself. And honestly, who could blame her? She just wiped out a whole faction, and here I am, stuck playing catch-up like a second-rate sidekick.

"Sinbad." She said, her voice dripping with that same cold authority she always carries now. No more warmth. No more soft-hearted sister.

We're doomed. Now that she just casually blurts out my real name that's when you'll know I'm in trouble.

"What are you standing there for? Don't act like you're here to save me. You know better."

I didn't answer her and just whistled while placing both of my arms in the back of my head.

Oh, don't mind me, Prim. I'm just here, you know, watching the carnage. Wouldn't want to interrupt your little moment of glory.

What was that again?

'Don't act like you're here to save me'?

Honey, please. I was never trying to save you.

I was trying to keep the pieces of this world from falling apart faster than they already are, but looks like I'm too late for that.

"Nice job." I said after assuring she's not gonna kill me and crossed my arms. "Killed them all. Didn't even break a sweat, huh?"

She gave me that look. You know the one. The look that makes you feel like you're not even worth the time it takes for her to glare at you.

But that's okay. I'm used to it. It's what she always does. "What do you want me to do, Sinbad? Sit around crying about it? I'm done with that."

Done? Of course, she's done. She's always been done with things-done with people, done with feelings, done with everything that might've held her back before.

Now, she's an unstoppable force, and I'm the one stuck trying to figure out how to deal with it.

"Well, you are kind of a walking disaster." I muttered under my breath, but I know she heard me. Prim doesn't miss a thing.

"Watch it, Sinbad." She warned, eyes narrowing. "You might not like the consequences of that comment."

Oh, please.

I rolled my eyes. "What are you gonna do? Tell me how much you don't need me? Oh, wait. You already did that. You've been doing that for weeks."

Her grip on Vincent's head tightened. "I didn't ask for this. But now that I have it, don't think for a second I'm going to play nice. So if you have something to say, say it. But don't waste my time."

And there it is. The King, no longer my little sister. No more jokes, no more games. Just the cold, ruthless version of the girl I used to know. Maybe this is what happens when you take everything from someone and leave them with nothing but rage.
